Utah ranks No. 1 in terms of the number of residents contemplating suicide
by Changed Man Mar 2012
"Recently, the Center for Disease Control revealed that Utah ranks No. 1 in terms of the number of residents contemplating suicide. The Utah Department of Health Violence and Injury Prevention Program reported that Utah has the eighth highest rate of suicide for adults in the nation, and suicide is the second leading cause of death for Utahns ages 15- 19.
The rural areas have a significantly higher suicide rates: namely Sevier, Piute, Wayne, Tooele, Carbon, Emery, Weber and Morgan Counties as well as the Glendale, Ben Lomond and Tricounty areas."
I don't know how many were LDS or non-LDS, but in general, the population in Utah seems pretty suicidal compared with the rest of the US population. Interesting. Sad, but interesting.

Very sad. The brother of a guy I used to work with committed suicide. After his mission he was very depressed and hung himself. Last year a cousin of my wife hung himself as well.
So sad to see these people die.

From the release:
"The rural areas [of Utah] have a significantly higher suicide rates:"
--------------------------------------------------------------
The rural areas also have the highest density of Mormons in Utah! Utah has the highest use of antidepressants and has often been first in bankruptcies!
All is not well in Zion, and by these "suicide fruits" ye shall know it. The church is unreal (false) and it expects unreal results from its members. The distance between what is "real" and what is "ideal" is so great that it pulls people apart from the inside. The members break because the church can't give.
The church always has to be perfect, so when anything goes wrong, the members have to take the responsibility:
"It CAN'T be the church, so it HAS to be ME."
Just look at the unrealistic sex education law that the Mormon-dominated legislature is trying to pass right now. Denial is everywhere in Mormonism and it leads to mental breakdowns.
The members sacrifice themselves on the church's alter of perfection.

If my memory serves me right, there were 2 or 3 suicides from Utah Valley University students, and several attempts on campus by students where teachers or the police had to intervene, in the past 12 months. No religion was mentioned, but according to the last statistic I was told, 80% of the over 20,000 student population claimed to be Mormon.
UVU has an emergency suicide prevention team and program.

Indeed. The damn Moron culture expectations to do it all and be it all is showing huge cracks. No wonder I fled the damn state of insanity after I graduated at YBU. Looking back, I wonder how I lasted. Good thing I was ignorant on a lot of the historical issues back then.

Just before I left Utah for good, the Captain of the football team at my high school shot himself. And another boy hung himself in his barn. Both were good kids.
