A little background - 5 years ago I was given ownership of our family cemetary in northern Arizona. My great grandpa was a homesteader and built a cemetery after his 4 children died from diptheria in the early 1900s. Its been in my family the entire time and my dad passed it on to me so . . . . . . .

After telling my siblings about Steve's response a few weeks ago to my post about him being adopted (my dad alleged Steve was adopted so that ETBs patriarchal blessing that supposedly mentions no one in his family being lost is still valid), my dad has apparently been beside himself due to his son associating with an apostate of Steve's ilk.

I got a cryptic phone call from my dad today reminding me that only family were to be burried in the family cemetery. "Of course, dad" was my reply and I wondered why he said that, but didn't think too much of it.

A couple hours later I got a call from my brother telling me that my dad had phoned him and told him that he's worried I'm going to let Steve Benson be burried in the family cemetery!!!

I. Wish. I. Were. Kidding.

The leap that my dad had to make to go from Steve responding to a post of mine to being burried in the family cemetery . . . well. . . there just are no words . . .

If all kinds of idiots can be 'adopted' into Israel per Patriarchal blessings why can't Steve be 'adopted' into the ET clan?

This story, in a nutshell, captures how some in the church-cult think or do not think.

Thanks for sharing.

Steve can have my spot. I don't plan on using it.

. . . who has made your dad insane by sending your dad messages from the Holy Ghost that are themselves insane.

Both your dad and the Holy Ghost should be buried in the same padded cell.

Maybe he thinks you and Steve have something on the side, cause ya know, as soon as you don't believe in TSCC you'll turn gay.

Hey now!

Methinks I needs a little more uh locational input.

Ya see it's because most of my folks all rest in the Taylor bone yard except for the ones planted in the Shumway, Arizona cemetery.

No one talks much about the suicided stiff planted on the side of the hill above who thereby didn't merit interment among the righteous relatives.

Does Snowflake or sho lo ring any bells, praytell?

Well that's a relief.

Payson was in fact a relief stop on the way up narth ...if you get my drift.

Notwithstanding, in any event, I'd be proud to invite Steve unto my humble arizona burial acreage and take the ole dirt nap along side such as he.

Unlikely as that is, I know.

Methinks Steve would prefer his ashes be scattered out amongst the stars.

With our godfather Carl.

This shows how TBM thought processes work. They focus on one
thing--a result--and then fit EVERYTHING else into a line of
"logic" leading to that result.

Kerry Muhlestein's statement that he starts with the assumption
that the BOA is true and works backwards from there, is another
example.

The spin in the recent articles on JS's polygamy (teenagers and
other men's wives) is a mind-boggling example of reporting
disgusting, criminal behavior while trying to make it sound
righteous.

The last thing a Mormon can do is look dispassionately at the
evidence and follow where it leads.

I've visited ETB's grave on the north end of a little cemetary near Preston Idaho. Why isn't he in the family cemetary in AZ? Or did I miss some Steve Benson inside joke here???

I am not related to Steve in any way. I am the guy who has a family cemetery and my dad is the nut job who is worried I'm gonna let Steve be buried in our family cemetery!

Why in the hell would Steve want to be buried in my family's cemetery???!! That's the absurdity of this whole situation - that my dad found out Steve Benson replied to a post of mine and now he's worried we are BFFs and will want a plot in the ground next to dear ole dad! It's pure INSANITY!!!!

This sounds like the background to a very funny elaborate practical joke you could play on your dad.

Leave out a fake bill of sale for a headstone. Attach a picture or the headstone or the instructions requesting that the letter carving should have Steve Benson's name on it.

Leave it on a desk when you dad visits. Or maybe some legal looking papertrail of a plot of land being discussed. Customer being Steve Benson.

This good be a big laughfest with a hidden camera.

That is a fantastic idea!!!

But how can you prank someone who has the Holy Ghost? The spirit of discernment will let them know beforehand its a ruse. Its no small wonder that church leaders have never been duped by an elaborate prank . . . . . wait, what's this about Mark Hoffman? What are the kinderhook plates? Oh no!!!
