It helps show what they really are when we can see them weasel around questions. Steven Hassan (freedomofmind.com) said a big part of getting out of the Moonies for him was seeing Moon lie to a question from a reporter on TV. Also, it is a way of pressuring them to change a few things for those who are still in the church for the better, which they shouldn't have doctrinal objections to changing.

Has any apostle ever met with a group of ex-Mormons in public, on the record in the last fifty years? When you read the comments it's clear that nothing negative about the videoes gets past their screening people.

My whole family is deeply involved in the church. On my mother and father's side, one ancestor was an apostle under Brigham Young, another was part of the Martin Handcart Company, and another gave up the gold mines of California in the California gold rush to head back to Utah and continue building up Zion.
