My state senator for the TN legislature is a barber. Yet, he has made medical decisions for women with voting for the laws to restrict abortions. I have had sepsis twice and unfortunately know what it is like to nearly die. To subject young women to sepsis due to an abnormal pregnancy that could severely alter their young lives is wrong. Steve gave me permission to post this. Eric "Good-bye to God: An Editorial Cartoonist’s Journey From Jesus to Journalism– and Beyond," by Steve Benson How does one go from being a born-in-the-bed Mormon to a born-in-the-brain atheist? From a Latter-day Saint to a Latter-day Ain’t? From a believer drowning in faith to a skeptic saved by the facts? Point me to the confessi

There was an article awhile back that discussed why do members of the British monarchy live so long. Basically it is because they are well taken care of financially, physically, medically, and do not have the stresses that normal folks endure. Stress is a major factor in shorter life spans. If you are the person giving stress (and well compensated for doing so), you live longer. Also, an unhe

There is a fun and interesting short documentary on the BBC - https://www.bbc.co.uk/reel/video/p0fdwnv0/the-hunt-for-a-finnish-treasure-of-immeasurable-worth This is a story of a contemporary Joseph Smith with a dream mine thrown in. It includes ancient folklore, outlandish claims, true believers and of course, fraud. I found it interesting since I speak a bit of Finnish.

An excellent book I have mentioned before is entitled 'Dying of Whiteness'. The majority of the book is centered on life in Missouri with a bit on Tennessee. Poor health care. High gun deaths. Low wages. Now these attacks on the already low level of education. Jesus does need to hurry to save Missouri. What a state he has chosen to pick his return. I live in TN which is not much better r

Amazing what is happening in TN, yet not unexpected: "NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Republican lawmaker is calling for the resignation of Tennessee Lt. Gov. Randy McNally after the 79-year-old’s social media activity has come under scrutiny. State Rep. Todd Warner has accused McNally of “sexually grooming” a 17-year-old minor by commenting “relentlessly” on “nude photos”

How does his rant apply to Finnish, which is a gender neutral language? My mother, when ever she was speaking English, would always confuse him and her when talking about someone as Finnish was her native language. She never absorbed English gender pronouns in her speech. I was used to it.

There is an interesting article at https://onlysky.media/afiala/non-religion-is-sticky-and-contagious/ This was based on a Guardian article from a few weeks ago. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jan/22/us-churches-closing-religion-covid-christianity A few quotes: 'Sociologists have been studying the rise of the nones for a couple of decades. Studies of “nonversion” (conver

Thanks for posting this Concerned. It is difficult to imagine anything more unenlightening than the endowment ceremony. What a waste of time for all involved. Sorry you have to endure that.

Messy had deleted the content of the post. I do not believe it can be recreated. After the content was deleted, I deleted the thread per request. A couple of comments from my experience: Starting this site nearly 25 years ago with all the hate mail, hate fill posts and even threats on my life, have helped me. I was an extreme introvert. Now I am just an introvert. So there is a positiv

It is disturbing to see people like her. No compassion. Mormonism seems to enforce a feeling of superiority. I see this too with hard core Evangelicals.

Please do not donate. My account was not accessible for a few hours. I think we are fine but trying to make sure. At the moment it seems OK. I am waiting for them to get back to me so hold off on donations. Sigh I was able to transfer the balance in the account of $1100 so that is secure. It may take a few days to clear up the issue. I had to remove my bank from the account to be sa
