Let me get this straight . . . he's saying the Kinderhook plates are real?? Even LDS inc. admitted they Kinderhook plates are phony. Oh, and the "negro lips" on carved faces? That's from the Olmec heads. If you look at the Olmec heads, and then look at the indigenous people STILL LIVING in the region where the heads were produced, you will get your solution to why the

I recall someone here did a search of real estate records and found that Thomas S. Monson owned just under a million dollars in real estate. I thought at the time, "not bad for someone who spent his whole life working for the Church." Guys like Uchtdorf who came to be full-time GAs from the world of business can be justified for being filthy rich. They were successful bus

How DARE you say this. Of COURSE the Church is worried about world hunger and clean drinking water. Didn't they just tell people in Africa to pay their tithi

I received my inheritance (cash) 28 years ago. I transformed it into a house (which I still own) and mutual funds which form the core of my retirement savings. Last year, for the first time in my life, I bought a new car--under $20,000. I think I could survive winning a million in the lottery. But I never play the lottery. Maybe the problem is that people who win the lottery are

Yes, he had to prepare the way by boinking a lot of his followers' wives sisters, and daughters. Sadly he was cut down in the prime of his life by an angry mob. Had he lived another fifty-six years he would have been able to boink enough woman to bring about the coming of the Lord, and wind up the scene.

So you couldn't go back to sleep after hearing a ghost story on the radio. That MUST have been "The Spirit" telling you that the story was TRUE!. We all know that having ANY kind of emotional response to what someone tells you, or to what you read, HAS to be "The Spirit" telling you it's true. At least that's what I was told concerning the Book of Mormon.

More immediate question is, how does global warming affect the wildfires? I'm just an armchair "expert" but it seems to me that greater evaporation from the ocean would lead to greater rain during the rainy season which would mean more vegetation which would become dryer during the hotter dry season and create more tinder for wildfires.

I recall as a kid noticing that a lot of the hymns were about how great things were GOING TO BE in the future. I recall my TBM father and others whose eyes would glaze over as they talked about how wonderful it would be in the future when XYZ finally happened.

I was once a guest on an internet radio show about Mormonism (by non-Mormons) and spent most of the time "defending" the Church against the crazy rumors that they'd all heard.

I live next to a farm. Each spring my wife and I walk over and see the newborn calves. A calf (as with a foal) can walk just after it's born. A Human baby can do nothing. Why? One idea is that it has to do with our distant tree-shrew ancestors coming down and walking. This left our hands free to do things like make and use tools. This gave having a large brain (and accompanyin

At least Mormonism never has these stupid pronouncements by out- of-it geezers who remark on fashion trends as if they were God's Vogue editor . . . oh wait, shoulders . . . earrings . . . facial hair . . . skirt length . . . Sorry, my bad.

What the Church will do is accept the "revealed extended parable" explanation of the Book of Mormon as acceptable for members to believe if they wish. In the past this was considered a heresy. What the Church WON'T do is put that position forward as the Church's position. They will trumpet over and over how "Marvelous" and "wonderful" and "true&qu

My TBM ex-wife had the idea that God wanted her to be rich. She thought that God had provided this way for her to become rich, and all she had to do was find it. She fell for all kinds of scams trying to find the one God had in mind for her. That was over 40 years ago. She never did succeed in finding God's plan for her acquisition of wealth.
