It's the day the first permanent mormon settlers entered the Utah Valley. Utahans celebrate it as if it were the 4th of July with fireworks, parades, games, picnics and cold unspiked punch.

Say it in passing as you're leaving the house after dinner ready to walk to the car. They might gasp, wince, start to cry, or moan. Ignore all of that. Say, "Ha, ha, ha, sorry you're taking this so hard, but that's how it is these days. I'm sure you're mature and flexible enough to adjust, so I won't worry about you. Thanks for dinner. See you next time. Take care." Then ju

I wouldn't want to go there, but mormons might like to see it at least once until they also froze in place out of boredom.

There's also the morg is a one size fits all organization. If someone doesn't like the program, it's because *they* need to learn a lesson and fit with the agenda. Where else in society are people forced into contrived activities roles they hate? Then they're made to feel defective for feeling any offense.

at my mother's question, "Do they pay you for teaching kindergarten as much as they pay regular teachers?" I was a good and serious teacher in any grade I worked. And kindergarten teachers deserve every dime in their checks!

Red wine is served closer to room temperature and is often served with meat or spicy foods. It usually needs to "breathe." That means you need to remove the cork 20 or 30 minutes before serving. Pouring it into a decator speeds up the process. Cheaper wines usually to need breathe longer in my experience. Be careful because too much red wine and not enough food with it can cause

Battery acid? Used rubber gloves to seal it in a bag and carry it to the trash. Don't know where she came up with that one.

From Winkswinks, sorry I wasn't ready to be a mother. Others: Sorry you can't understand how hard it was. Sorry I wasn't in a better frame of mind in those days. Sorry you're still offended and can't move on. When I was 45 or 50, My mother gave me a $1000 check and said we were even now and would I "not hold anything against her?" I answered that I didn't "hold th

I'm sorry about your teeth, the rent, and all. My parents took care of the older two kids teeth but didn't take the four younger exmo-types to the dentist. This means my younger sister had to get a bridge at a very early age. They got my older sister an eye patch for lazy eye and she has had good vision, but my younger sister is blind in one eye and has poor vision in the other from lack of

I don't think a jar of pennies would be disorderly enough to need police action unless he THREW them everywhere and cursed and screamed.

We didn't swim, eat out, or go to movies and such, but we did continue our vacation by eating in the car or at a picnic table whatever cold food we'd bought at a market. We didn't go on many vacations and never brought church clothes or looked for a local wardhouse when we were on the road.

In the other thread Timothy said something like, "Stupidity isn't cultural. It's stupid." And "It's a cult." Timothy told his harrowing story of a family who refused to attend his wedding. They try in different ways to deny he has a wife. And they advised him to marry his brother's widow, adopt the kiddies, and turn mormon. Amazing! Right? And that's just the beginnin

The problem is that many muslim leaders at this time are emphasizing and promoting the most intolerant and violent parts of their scripture, and the rank and file aren't allowed to think for themselves. The Koran is centered more certainly than mormonism on obedience to the tribal leader since that was the ONLY form of societal organization known in the time and place when it became law.

Of what? Of being "easily offended." That's another petty little trick common in the morgbot zion culture. It goes like this: Step on toes. Act presumptuous. Then if non-mos and newcomers mention it, claim persecution and call them rude childish names. It's a variation of the old sticks and stones game: Gang up on a kid day after day, call them the worst kind of names,

I don't think so. If mormons don't mind giving and receiving invitations and announcements that society thinks are rude, that's up to them. They have many other strange "traditions" relating to engagements, weddings, showers, and gifts which many nonmos would consider to be strange if not downright rude. Let's take gifts for example. I received wedding gifts from mormon relative

If they pay for changes and it turns out worse, let it be on their heads. If they pay and folks like it better, fine. I'll stay until it is no longer worth my time. There used to be a series of commercials about how wonderful Californians are for fixing what isn't broken. California is in big trouble and this flim-flam attitude is a major part of the problem.

That might be a posted sign, or it could be a letter you wrote to oganizational leaders. It could also be an email, a copy of telephone communications, faxes, anything that proves the person or persons were not supposed to be on your property and possibly that you told them to leave and they said they wouldn't.

all being harassed and ridiculed for being white. They used the same attorney who helped them get a better settlement but couldn't save their jobs. I'm in no mood to hear about how it is where I live from someone who hasn't been here or worked here in eons. I have lived worked and know the territory. I'm done!!!!!

I often read on RfM that bishops MUST come to your house if you're resigning because it's the only way to be sure you are who you claim to be in your resignation letter. What???? Signitures make documents legal and official. That's all it takes for most modern day trasactions including those which are life changing and involve huge amounts of money. Is the morg saying that exmos are guilt

Old white men lose job opportunities left and right for no other reason but there skin color and being over the age 45. Big turn around from days gone by around these parts. My son is saying he might have to move to Texas.

Because of political correctness, almost everyone except white guys get special consideration and multiple chances these days and that doesn't seem fair to me. Being male doesn't make a guy is guilty of any crime or offense.

The reality is that people like you say this and so posters don't pursue enforcing it. In actuality it CAN be enforced if an exmo chooses to take the trouble to see that it is done. I don't understand why you give out this misinformation time and time again. The police in my area have enforced this for me and I know they'd do it for anyone who cared enough to bring it up to them. You ne

The letter is clear documentation of the owner's objections making the bish a trespasser if he shows up. A restraining order isn't necessary.

I usuaally suggest that exmos contact the bish first. Leave a message that "you have resigned, don't want to talk to him, and you want the paperwork completed promptly. Thank you very much." If he phones or shows up in spite of this, show your disdain and surprise. "I can't believe you'd show up at a former member's house knowing the action would be considered as trespassing.

"If you didn't need this beating, you wouldn't have chosen this family in the preexistence." So whenever they were frustrated and needed to let off steam, they had a victim and a good excuse. They were doing God's will and "helping" a child who "needed" beatings.

Mormons have short memories. They and the general public need to be aware of these kinds of references.
