One county librarian told me that they have a budget to cover damaged books and those that patrons steal. They noticed that many of these books were uncomplimentary of mormonism. Now they have a general category and another category for books that mormons vandalize. Some mormon missionaries hide out in the stacks and write replies in the margins of these books. They also blacken passages or hi

Sorry, but it's impossible to avoid mormons hoping to convert you if you socialize with them and support your wife's activities. Laughing in their faces might work. "Ha-ha-ha! You never give up, do you? What a joke! Tee-hee-hee!" Then, abruptly change the subject or turn your back and walk away.

It's a novel based on this subject. The polygamy in the mainstream church is covert and only tolerated by mormon officials because they don't want to bring attention to the humiliating situation.

He was a missionary there for eight years, throughout WWII and for a few years prior to the war. He decided to remain on his mission instead of joining in the war effort. He was a main mover and shaker in bringing in converts during that time. He was talented in music and was key in establishihg mormon hymn singing among the early converts. I still have a few Tongan trinkets from that time.

The bishop wrote me a letter and claimed that some member I'd never met had heard me say I wanted to resign. So he sent a letter saying he would honor that (fake) request. He said I was out and would need counsel and to be baptized again if I ever decided to rejoin. The bishop was frustrated with having me on the rolls, and I didn't know resignation was a n option. Yet, I am an officially resi

Don't say "please remove my name," as this invites delays. Say, "I resign as of today."

My brother married into it. He had more than one wife and fathered at least 19 children. He claims to have left it and was eventually rejoined a regular mormon ward, but he didn't leave it all behind and many of his children are still plural wives in the Allred group.

We had to eat outdoors and wore masks until the food arrived. The waiter had a mask for the entire time people were ordering and eating. Tables were spaced. It worked out well, but wasn't as nice as being inside without masks.

That's why they don't ask you. You could phone the bish and tell him to ask you and not listen to third hand tales about you. Tell him honesty is the best policy and that gossip is not. I'm serious. Consider making that call. You can say all of that in a kind agreeable voice and ask him if he agrees that Jesus would do the same.

With zero evidence. CZ chimed in on that thread and he also had zero evidence for his point of view. Your memory fails you? Mine does not.

Take note of her attitude and of course yours. She called me a racist and a xenophobe in the past. I have never done or said anything in my life or on RfM which indicates such a thing. She said it based on zero evidence. I think it might be that I tried to point out that though her politics had merit, others might see things differently which was their right and they don't deserve to chase

Racism, sexism, bigotry don't have to be the subjects under discussion for these attitudes to be evident as they are with you.

the people we're talking about have these conditions through no fault of their own. People who create evil cults choose their paths and need to be prosecuted. Their feelings need to be hurt. They deserve it. People with giantism don't deserve to be ridiculed. There are still pockets individuals in small communities where everyone is so inflicted as well as individuals within families who ha

There were blacks in those days. There were cancerous people in those days. There were lepers in those days. There were gays in those days. Then making fun of them because it was in "those days," as if none of those exist now.

Dishing out insults and blaming the victim for taking your insults "out of context." Your post said nothing of "wacky mormon nonsense."

It's rare. That's a problem for me. Ridicule of those suffering from rare diseases is cruel. I had brain surgery decades ago and since then I get blood tests regularly to check on excessive growth hormone which would be best if it were zero, but of course it never is. These pituitary diseases are rare which doesn't mean they are laughable. They're serious. I see other patients with these

Before they reach adulthood and the years following. Growth hormone naturally ends in early adulthood. If someone has pituitary problems, it can continue and cause other serious problems like enlarged internal organs and unnatural growth of the hands, feet, and jaw. Do not take any product which promises to increase growth hormone unless it's an injection prescribed by an endocrinologist fo

Customers need to use credit cards because clerks don't want to touch their money and the customer can deal with touching the card. No one may use bags from home. They must use new clean bags provided by the store. Many products are limited to one per customer. No rain checks allowed.

An employee washes down every cart and hands one to each shopper as needed. I shopped early during the time and on the days reserved for older shoppers. Signs are posted telling shoppers to leave if they have any of the listed symptoms. Someone counts those who enter and leave to keep traffic low. If numbers reach a certain limit, additional shoppers must wait outside in a widely spaced

At least I'm glad your mom is free of pain and you were there for you when she most needed you. Sorry about your sister. I have one sister and brother who are like that as well. I'm glad I also have good ones.

I'm like you. My first published work was a chapter of my book in a literary journal. I'm glad mormonism is no longer crushing your creativity. I think I'd be in a padded cell if I hadn't left it.
