I think it's a way to keep and attract new members. The church is losing so many members like crazy, they are bending to pressure. I could see them allowing chuldrenof LGBT getting baptized and becoming more like other churches. Maybe they will even lower tithes.

Oh, don't worry - converts nowadays don't last long because the facts are out there in black and white. They will figure it out.

At first my friend was unsettled because she wanted to leave the church her way and the last thing she expected was to be outed. In the end, it didn't matter because the church is what it is. She just would have rather have it her way with her own exit. Anyone know y this investigator would do that? She most likely showed the email to her boyfriend and the boyfriend gave her the bishop's email

When my friend was in a family ward before she went to a singles people ward, where she was once assigned to visit a woman who had just had her first baby and my friend turned down the assignment to respect her boundaries and privacy as a new mother. She used to ride with her neighbors to church but told them she'd be riding with someone else to give them space and privacy for their 2nd child who

I went out with my friend for a light dinner yesterday night and I asked her about how she came to the conclusion the church wasn't true. She told me she did some research after some friends who were born and raised in the church reached out to her. This prompted her to conduct her own research and she started digging into the LDS church essays and anything she could get her hands on. Turns ou

I don't think they'd do it. It's enough that the church is a fraud and used members' tithing money to pay for City Creek Mall (a fact my former convert/now ex-Mormon friend found disturbing when she recently found out not too long ago). I don't think she knows the tithing also puts money into the church leaders' pockets and I would think she would explode at that one, too.

My friend knows a missionary who misses having sex and wants to go home because of it.

When you say no one is ministering, do you mean the missionaries are having trouble finding converts now? Because that would be very sensible.

Hello, mel. No, my friend does not post on this board as she has made it a point to leave it behind her given that she wasn't in the church for too long.

I think she will be okay. She didnt even hit her two year mark so she will be able to put this behind her and move on with no problem. I am happy she finally sees the light.

Amyjo, my friend just phoned be last night to tell her she was leaving. She's not bothering to follow up with her bishop. Her bishop knows. She is happy to be done with it. She just wanted to exit in her own way. She was outed.

Yes, Christians can have a "superiority" complex attitude at times, too. But that goes for all the other religions out there in the world. The only difference is that at least the Christian man can walk his daughter down the aisle and see her get married while the temple bars that completely.

Hello, Jamie, I have a friend who just left which prompted me to get active on RFM again. She is angry and feels cheated. I am sorry that you experienced that. I wish I could better relate but I am a never-mo. I think my friend who was a convert to the church would like to read your story. I am glad she finally sees that the church isn't what it claims to be. It should be a priority as a fathe

mel, I had a friend who converted and hasn't even and is 4 months shy of her 2 year mark. Today, she phoned me and told me she was out. She is going through the same thing as you. It is hard to quit because she has never been happier at any other church she has been at. If you want, I can get you in touch with her. Would you like someone to talk to and relate to?

People can't let go because the church was all they knew growing up. It's not that the church is all they know, but the fact that it affects their relationships with family and friends. Once they come to the conclusion the church is a fraud and they leave, it becomes a lonely and awkward situation where one thinks "what now?" I picked up on that from RFM. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm n

For some of you who don't know me, I have a friend who joined the church. She hasn't even hit her 2 year mark and today, she told me she was done with the church and that she was leaving. This came as quite a bit of a shock to me and our mutual friends who have formally resigned or are non-believers who are inactive in the church. This was a person we had trouble getting through to no matter w

It's LD$ Inc. My friend mails her tithes to "Corporation of the Presidents" in Salt Lake City. Yes - they wipe their bottoms with $100 bills in tithing money and erect malls with retractable roofs and live lavishly on your money while you suffer.

I recalled a conversation in the past that just randomly crossed my mind just now. 2 of my exmo friends were talking about my convert friend in the kitchen when we did a group gathering for ping pong and music a few weeks ago. They had mentioned my convert friend wished someone in another family ward a happy fathers day over Facebook, the man responded "thank you. Have fun in Europe this sum

My, I can't wait for my friend to wake up and smell the coffee. She's a convert and I hope she runs for the hill when she realizes the fraud.

Back then, from what I know from one of my exmo friend's older family members, the rituals were more bizarre and scary. Plus, they use to do the washing and anointing ceremony where you were naked & they use to pull you close at the veil making people feel violated......I'm sure your mother was traumatized.

She was in a family ward before she decided to go to a YSA ward. And she's already made it clear to me she intends on being a jack Mormon. She told me life's too short to be deprived of life's simplest pleasures and there are things she won't give up for garments and she's too free-spirited to marry a Mormon. Mutual friends and I are still waiting for her to see the light. And she realizes tha

26. UPDATE
My convert friend tried the funeral potatoes recipe from The Essential Mormon Cookbook tonight and served it at her YSA meeting. She cut down the butter in the recipe, but upon trying it, her stomach turned. That is a heck of a lot of sour cream in the recipe (NOTE: she used light sour cream). Told me it ruined her 1st Mormon cooking experience...says it's better to cut the butter by more than

From hindsight, I think the family-centered aspect of the church was what attracted her. Idk but I'm pretty sure.

Men find it sexy in a woman who can outdo them. My convert friend who was in the military shared that insight with me when she was in. Men like interesting women that are empowered.

1. What is a BYU 'preference dance'? 2. Why is it that I see lots of Mormon group photos where people have one arm bent and the other pointing upward and away???
