Make sure you tell them you prayed about the truthfulness of the church, and you received your answer. Then the discussion will be about who prays better.

I know that the Idaho Falls Temple was rededicated over a year and a half ago, not sure how old this photo is, but it does look like the Holt Arena in Pocatello.

There is a very detailed podcast with recordings from Josh and Susan. It is called "Cold" by KSL. The narrator is obviously TBM as he says "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" over and over again, never once does he say Mormon. It actually sounds very awkward, and that title won't stick because Mormon is so much easier to say and recognized. Other than that,

I also was a veil worker and can vouch for the truth of this post. I told them I quit when they said that one of the requirements was to have extremely bad breath before my shift. They require all temple workers to have it. :)

I use ours for morning news, stock report, and weather. It's nice to find out a quick score on a game. We have our playlist connected to it and listen to music or podcasts while cooking or working in kitchen. Sometimes we will ask her for conversions of measurements while baking, or if we have a question on some world fact. It's nice, but I probably wouldn't miss it if we didn't have it.

Usually you can tell if someone is a Mormon, but without asking about religion, there is no way you could help not letting a few Mormons slip by and get hired. It's a smart business plan.

I will occasionally have lunch with my son, and we have a beer. My tbm wife is so against drinking that we can't be honest, she is of the mindset that drinking will cause alcoholism. She has never been around social drinking much, but she sees people that drink without morals. I am done lying to her. My two sons that drink socially are sick of lying to her, to save her being hurt. I have de

The reason Mormon's think that tithing is a blessing is because every time something good happens to them they figure it is because they pay tithing. If you get a job promotion then it is because we pay tithing. If you get a raise, avoid the flu, or get out of debt, it is because of tithing. When you don't pay tithing these things still happen, plus, you get 10% more income. They really don'

Joseph Smith tried to sell it before he made a religion out of it. No one would buy it.

And if god really talks to him why is Nelson saying "I'm just getting started"? Seems like god should play some part in that.

I just thought of something that I should have thought of 40 years ago. It might have made me walk out of the temple then instead of going through with a marriage. When I married my 19 year old wife she started wearing the same exact type of underwear that my great-grandmother wore. I, of course wore the same kind of underwear that my grandpa wore when I was teenager and going on a mission.

If you were the leader of the Mormon Church, and you knew it wasn't true, how would you let people know? If you stand up in conference and declare your unbelief, you will be escorted out, and the church will let everyone know you are mentally unstable. Coming out against Mormonism would backfire on you. You would need a different strategy. So maybe digging in deeper with church rules.

They will eat hamburgers with cheese as long as it has bacon and a large soda--with cookies or cake for dessert. But no coffee, it's unhealthy.

I went to the city dump and threw them one at a time down into the pit with all the rotten garbage. I watched the large bulldozer run over them and push them into the pile. I smiled, but I must have had some anger back then :)

There are around 2,000 resignations awaiting processing in the church file. The average in a normal week is around 500 that are awaiting processing. Hopefully that number will keep rising as more people hear about it. I think that Sam did it the right way, and he was able to do the most damage to the church by making them excommunicate him instead of him resigning.

Great analysis! It works in all aspects of life, especially marriage. If your spouse does not have their own happiness, nothing you will do can make them happy.

I took the amount of tithing that I would be paying and put it in a savings account. Each month I had an auto-withdrawal in the tithing amount. After several years of this growing I was able to retire earlier than I thought because of this large nest egg. In that way, tithing was a blessing to me :)

I would like to look up a girl I baptized as a missionary over 40 years ago. She was a "Donnie Osmond" convert, and I have always hoped she was able to get out of the church. I tried to find her on the church website, but without more information I was out of luck.
