I am so, so sorry. I too know this pain, having been shunned by my community and abandoned by family. Even my own parents (!?))aligned with my abusive upstanding priesthood-weilding. spouse...for a while. They didn't understand what was happening, having no frame of reference, and neither did I. I only knew I was saving my own Life. I can now see that the members need scapegoats upon which

The Salt Lake Tribune (Ethan Dodge) points out the contrast in numbers of petition signers: 120,000 Mos in 24 hrs to amend Monson's obit vs roughly 1/10 that number for Sam's Stop Abusing Children petition. Shows where true priorities lie. Human tithe.

'I think many of us were so sure we had all the answers that we never even realized we didn't even know what the questions were. That is the brainwashing part.' This, D&D. I was so naive, yet arrogant, a recipe for disaster! Combine those factors with low self-esteem (the *real* kind of esteeming one's self, not the puffed-up 'We, Superior Beings know The Truth and are Special because o

Excellent quotes; thank you so much, D&D! I guess every new layer peeled away reveals painful, but brilliant green new growth. I'm looking toward the day when the scales balance. 28 *years* in, (TWENTY EIGHT YEARS OF. NOT-MY-TRUE-SELF)...only a few to go to reach half & half status. I want MY life.

I am angry at having been vegiformed. The shape I (and others) have been forced into to suit the demands of that cult does not reflect my truth as an organic, free Being. The circumstances I (and others) am(/are) in is constricting at best, and seems an inescapable predetermimation, an inherent impediment to growth as a human capable of sustaining one's own life. It feels (in this moment) that

Great information, thank you! I'm glad to that site is not owned by the Mos (yet). Family history is, indeed, fascinating; I love knowing my ancestors' stories, and am working to remove the bad taste left from tha Mos' version, i.e.'History' is pronounced 'antimormon bias.' The Vault Cumorah, haha!

I have a rabid genealogist family member & just tried to access ancestrydotcom out of curiosity. (incorrectly thought it was free, silly me); had been avoiding it to stay as far off Mo-dar as possible... Wondering a couple of things... Why does the corporation *really* collect & keep family history records? Is it mainly to feed the temple proxy machine? Experience has revealed that a

Keeping oneself constantly distracted with 'busyness' keeps the screaming thoughts (CULLLLT!!! Get out! Run awaaaayyyyyy!) from getting through to the conscious mind. Slowing down & becoming present make the mind just too loud.

You will never be good enough... for "them," that is. EVER. No matter how you look or what you accomplish, you could always have done it better, and are required to exhaust your self in the quest to please. There is freedom in this realization. "They" will judge & criticize because small minds need to grasp at something to keep from looking at their own s*it.

Typical Mo mind-in-a-box: black 'n white thinking, double-standard, and objectification. Females are either Madonna or Whore (archetypes), no room for 3-d rainbow reality. Does not apply to males. My own DH could not handle sexuality, shaming me into his perception of "purity," with "Are you trying to be sexy?" (newlywed, holy underoos slipping off my shoulder) and, turnin

If they do not walk up to every covenant they make at these altars in this temple this day, they will be in MY power!" How many times has this threat, repeatedly etched into one's psyche, reverberated endlessly not unlike their famed "eternity mirrors," subconsciously dictated one's decisions? I have not yet made the halfway mark; that is, more than half of my life thus far w

Situation: My young child's father (emotionally abusive & volatile) has taken our child to the home of a registered sex offender, a friend of father's. (For clarification: his offense was against an older-teenage child-and has not been, to my knowledge, a repeat offender.) I do not know how much contact my child has had with this person; I do know that father has asked our child to keep info
