The one they're building in Casper, WY is closer to a mobile home. I'm not kidding. Ok, MODULAR. They poured a traditional looking foundation, then plopped on all the modular units. They will then put a steel frame OVER the modules in preparation for the roof and exterior siding. I always knew they'd put one in a mobile home.

The mormon church is planning a new temple in India. It will be in Bengaluru. https://churchofjesuschristtemples.org/bengaluru-india-temple/ Here's my thought, please follow my train of thought. Somewhere out there, there are a number of children who joined the mormon church in India with their parents. The kids couldn't care less, just no choice, so here they are. The parents told

Hiroshima would take two days. One day for the A-Bomb Dome and Hiroshima and one day for Miyajima. Miyajima is pure magic.

While I was in it, it was a horrid thing. Every day was all about a church that I hated being involved with. This was as a child, a young adult, a mishie, an RM, all the way up until I learned it was a fraud when I was 29. I'm been free from it for 20 years now and it's been heaven. Having said that, it did help me. I can spot a liar and a fraud from 1,000 paces now. Mormonism never

I have always enjoyed swear words. I was baptized at age 8. The first day on the playground, I dropped the f bomb and knew this wasn't going to work. Having held it together for the majority of the mission, with only a few swears, I went to my last area and my comp met me at the train station. On the way back to the apartment, he ripped off a good "fuck" and it was game on. Oh,

I attempted it at 13 partly due to issues that all 13 year olds go through, partly because I'm gay and the fam didn't care for that (except Uncle Howard - he was a pedo), partly due to the pedo, but mostly due to the mormon church, what was told to me at church about homosexuality and how it's EVIL and so forth. My cousin managed to complete his suicide at age 52. I've come close to thinkin

I'd forgotten all about transfers. In Japan (89-91) we, as mishies, had to cover our own expenses 100%. When the transfer calls came, our first concern was "how far is it?" because that would dictate how much money would be spent. I had two or three long transfers and one that was so close I did it by Taxi. One transfer I had a member that met me at the train station to send me

The soul lives in a gland in yer noggin called the pineal gland. Think "I Dream of Jeannie" but in lieu of a bottle, she is in a gland the size of a grain of rice. now when she got there......that's open for dispute.

lol hadn't thought of that in years. We thought we had one in Japan in 1989. The dad was a bank branch manager, the wife was a homemaker and there were two kids, one boy, one girl. The picture perfect 1950's "family". The Izumi Family - I even remember the name and if I look hard enough, I'll find the family pictures - that's how certain we were. Only, they had NO interes

When I first learned about the Book of Abraham issue, I felt as if every other mormon had heard of it, had come to conclusion about it. I went to my closest friend and asked him "what's your take on this book of abraham thing?" and he smugly replied "I believe it to be true as far as it is translated correctly" and I knew then and there that he didn't know a thing about it.

It's completely different, agreed. Then: very strict dress code, phone calls TWICE a year - once on mother's day, once on xmas, one letter per week, proselytizing at all times unless English Class (i was in japan), we were actually instructed by the MP to NOT TEACH young women (we had no sister mishies in that district at all, but if it's true, then every person needs it), our service was to

They spent a fortune on a remodel of the Washington DC temple. Why? Because it's needed for "the work"? or was it simply to have an open house and all the included attention? Welp, here's our answer. https://churchofjesuschristtemples.org/washington-d.c.-temple/ They aren't doing an open house until it's safe to do so. BS. if the remodel was to make it a more workab

Moroni. He's getting 86'd it would appear. Lately, when the renderings of the temples have been released, the majority of them have NO moroni up on the pole. Even one of the Utah temples will have no "moroni". Initially, the Bangkok temple had a moroni in the rendering. Now the rendering shows a plain spire. The Hong Kong temple was built with a moroni, in the remode

I detested each and every thing about the mormon mission experience. I made it a point to break each and every mission rule that I could possibly. **AND** I took pictures to record them all. The following sentence is completely unbelievable - EXCEPT that I have photographic evidence. **I went to a drag show at a bar on my mormon mission in Japan**. I had sex with a companion. I

ah, I see. So this way, it's a "multi-use" building that also has the ability to function as a "temple". Then they only accept appointments of locals. When they show up, it's a "temple". when the government officials show up, it's not a temple anymore, just a multi-purpose building.

yep and the pedantic in me wishes they would call it "Physical Distancing" because we need the physical distance but still need to be socially close to those we love.
