No. God is the projection on the cosmic screen of each person's individual world view. Most (but not all) humans have a psychological need for there to be something 'out there", something beyond the empirical experience. They never find any actual proof. But their need is so strong that they invent an unseen world. And that world is so comforting that they cannot imagine living without it

Serious question: is there any other kind these days? They ran out all the academics, and they have basically demoralized any Sermon on the Mount types. So what's left?

I will go to Dallas. General announcement: contrary to what the preppers among us are warning about, the event will disappointingly once again fail to initiate any sort of turmoil culminating in the return of Jesus. Sorry, folks. Maybe next time?

Most of the Q-15 are deathly afraid of saying anything that might set off more prepper wackos. Rusty has resurrected the Last Days thing a few times, and maybe that's why there has been a surge of recent nutjobs. But I believe they are trying to de-emphasize it as the year 2000 fades into the background.

As long as the revelations don't challenge The Brethren (TM), they love it. See: Ruby Franke and Lori Vallow. And we all know how well that turned out!

Dear Peggy Stack and all the rest of the people who might be reporting on the upcoming GC: They will say a whole bunch of pleasing things. we condemn abuse, that wort of thing (as if anybody would ever say that they condone abuse or any other bad thing). (1) Nobody will ever direct their remarks to the church members. The whole job of the leaders is to reassure the rank and file that they are doi

From another thread: First Counselor J. Anette Dennis responded with the following statement: “Thank you for reaching out and taking the time to share your feelings,” Dennis said. “As we read through the comments, we were moved by some of the experiences you’ve had. As a member of the General Relief Society Presidency, I can assure you that we and our church leaders are listening and

He will be given allowances like nobody's business for paparazzi stuff. And the church leaders will wet themselves with excitement. All the while the rest of the mission force will be made to feel like sh!t for wanting the smallest hint of attention.

The Hindu folks made sure to comply with all appropriate codes and covenants plus local sentiment. The Mormons just bulldoze their way in.

It's interesting what talents are appreciated and which ones are condemned at every turn. My main talent is being able to detect bullsh!t. They didn't like that one.

The Cathedral is nine hundred years old. I shudder to think what the Mormons would do to that if they ever acquired it.

The LDS church enabled them. The LDS church made them richer than some countries. The LDS church would first need to excommunicate most of their top leaders.

The Milgram Experiment showed the world that it is very easy for people to do unconscionable things if they believe their leaders are authorized to give orders. They believe Jeffery Holland is authorized by God himself. Case in point: the Mountain Meadows Massacre.
