Interesting that he didn't comment on any of the big 3 speeches. I guess it would be hard to find something positive and uplifting in what Hoax or Nelson had to say.

Why only wimmens? Why not "invite" all 16 million members watching at home?

6. Kirby
I realize that not everybody on this board is a Kirby fan, but I wish he were not in timeout. I would love to see his evisceration of the weekend's pronouncements

He couldn't have predicted the telephone, because the telephone really happened. None of his other predictions played out.

Even as downtrodden as mormon women are, I don't think they would tolerate this. Unless, of course we're talking about one woman and several husbands.

that there aren't enough seats in meetinghouses for everyone, so tickets were reserved and handed out by the bishopric last Sunday, according to my TBM friend. No ticket, no admission. I asked her why people weren't just staying home to watch it on TV in their pajamas, and she said "the Spirit is so much stronger in the chapel".

Hmmmm, no tithing? Unless it's understood that tithing is a prerequisite for temple work.

"enhance the patron experience"? Attendees are not "worshippers" or "saints", but "patrons"?

Nope. Hard as I tried, I just couldn't get past the "it came to pass" at the beginning of every verse. That annoyed me so completely that I never did get involved in the ridiculousness of the narrative. It annoyed me so completely that I never did even fall asleep trying to read it.

Just a thought - you can watch the entire endowment ritual on the Internet for a lot less than paying tithing for a year.

I've stayed close friends with a couple of TBMs. The key, for us, is never to mention Mormonism.

Don't forget Relief Society bazaars with beautiful handwork lovingly made. And great food too as I recall

Or, "it will all be made clear in the fullness of time", to which I always responded, "what/when is the fullness of time?". Crickets

No, but the pastor of the non denominational Christian church I went to after I left the Morg frequently expressed his opinions on political matters, which I told him I thought was incredibly inappropriate. And I was still welcomed at services every weekend.Oh, and I didn't vote the way he suggested.
