It reminds me of the Sister Wives program where they were always bawling their eyes out -- every -- episode. It sure made you believe they were happy living that way. LOL!

My understanding is that the outbreak of polio here in New York is due to a religious based idea of not vaccinating. I'm not sure that's going to be able to be easily addressed due to ideology. So yes. Denying reality is apparently worth it.

Me too. The only thing rewarding about the church is using them as a bad example.

It sounds like the dream was just a reflection of the way your dad had a rather detached relationship to the church. At least that's the way you've kind of described it prior to relating the dream to us.

That's not what you've been doing. You've made it clear that you are looking for something closer to prostitution without payment.

I always find it funny how the mormons get all titillated when a rumor flies that the "brethren" are about to do something. LOL!

While I agree with you generally, Rubicon,... "They also hate late term abortions, the celebration of abortions, big money being made off of abortions and selling the baby parts." Everyone hates late term abortions, because they are only ever done when someone wants a baby very badly, has gone through a great deal of the pregnancy and something has gone terribly wrong. It is a he

"I have spoken to my mother about it, and she didn't even realize I was going to feel left out the instant I saw photos of them up there in Seattle with a friend I would have very much have liked to support if I had known." Does your mom know how close you are with the married couple? If so, I don't understand why she would be surprised by your hurt at being excluded. Could your mo

I have to agree. Looking out for number one has lead us to this point and we are the poorer for it.

I doubt they will. They've allowed their party to be split in two with the most extreme voices running the show. That won't change any time soon because they've gone all in. The moderate voices have been silenced. And now they don't have enough of a base with which to continue their desire to control the entire country.

Next thing you know, the news media will be saying that the Republican point of view isn't very popular. Or maybe Alito isn't welcome at parties.

It seems like you're caught in a cycle of explaining yourself in any and all interactions. It's probably part of you being on the spectrum. I don't know. But maybe it's keeping people from including you in events where they don't want to have this come up. Weddings are such events where the event is to only celebrate the couple and their union and set aside all other emotions as possible di

I think there's a difference between immoral and amoral. Life is not an all or nothing proposition for most people.

Hmm... I sense a pattern here: "In May 2019, Ark Encounter filed a federal lawsuit against its five insurance carriers for not covering nearly $1 million in damages from roadway failure subsequent to rain.[79] According to the lawsuit, an access road was damaged by heavy rains in 2017 and 2018, which caused a landslide. Insurance companies cited an exclusion for correcting design deficien

Well, that'll make you have warm and tender feelings for the church and for her. Well done momster! Sorry you had to endure that. Kids shouldn't have monsters for parents. I really feel for you.

I have no problem with whatever this person believes. I do have a problem with him wanting the job of issuing legal licenses. If he doesn't want to issue them to everyone who qualifies, don't apply for the job. It's that simple.

I've never met a mormon yet who took any of it to that degree of seriousness. Most of them are on a spectrum somewhere where they do what they can/want for the church and then do whatever they want with the rest of their life. Some including not wearing garments and drinking, etc. Most are just social mormons.

There seems to be an agenda here. Who are the "experts" who examined the photo? Why do they want the LDS church to have this so badly? And why aren't they mentioning that a photo of JS jr. already exists for comparison? Why should I believe anything the RLDS has to say is somehow gospel? Edit to add, they mention women wearing the locket. Is it this locked for certain? Or just w

In the case of people in cults, they have made a huge investment and *need* it to be true or else their whole world can come apart and the loss can be devastating. So it may not be that they cannot see the truth, it may be that it's too costly.
