I want to begin this by saying welcome welcome to the family of Christ! What a blessing to have you all.
My husband is Gil, he is the youngest on six children in a very embedded Mormon family. He is also the only member to walk away from the hypocrisy he witnessed as a young child. By the time he was 13 he was working and living in his own apartment. He started running from it at age 7. He is a wonderful Christian and person altogether. His siblings adore him regardless of his faith. He is 56 years old and dying from rare disease...he's lost most of his sight and hearing, his ability to balance when he walks and still he walks with God all day, every day. He will never be sorry he left that cult. This past May he was baptized into the family of Christ and embraces Jesus while heartedly. The mormons still show up, no matter where we live and he lets them know how little they have nothing to say that he wants to hear. They asked onceif they could say a prayer for his health, he aged. They actually told God out loud that they knew He (God) gave Gil this illness because he walked away from the"priesthood" ...they are no longer welcomed into our home....fools
