A long lost TBM friend called me today and during our conversation I asked him if he was still on the HC. He was released and now manages the stake addiction program. I learned some interesting things about Mormons and their addictions. The official estimate is that one third of LDS males are addicted to PORN. The fastest growing group of PORN addiction is the 8 & 9 year old LDS boys.

Why does TSCC feel the need to make such sh1t up? I suppose the typical Sacrament Meeting could have as many as 60 males in attendance and 20 of them would have their iPads on a porn site prepping to perform later after seeing their wife in her magical underwear. Many of the 8 & 9 year old boys are looking at girls instead of playing left 4 dead or some other shooting them up war game on their iPods. Such a Christian ideal of love. I'm sure all the women feel safe knowing the men are watching porn instead of lusting after the females in their moo moo's.

I wonder if all this LDS addiction to PORN is just a group thing where each lds leader needs to hear X number sexual confessions. I remember sensing the Bishop or SP always seemed disappointed if I did not have some kind of sexual problem that needed their help. What would bishops and sp's do if there was no sin to confess for anything sexual one did or did not do?

I never hear about addiction to PORN unless a Mormon or some other religious nut is talking about it. Perhaps the mythical Satan has these PORNO folks in his power because they did not keep their promises made this day before these witness.

Please knock three times and the women in the room will cover their faces and bow their heads. That will do.

Does anyone have a copy of the movie Debbie Does Dallas or Behind The Green Day I can watch? They are Classics and I have never seen either one of them.

They probably went around the room of the Big 15, and asked how many are addicted to porn. Five admitted it (by whatever self induced standard they consider "addicted") so their conclusion is that 1/3 of all males are "addicted."

So which 5 are addicted to porn? I figure Bednar and Uchdorf because they are younger. Who are the other three?

Packer is the other three.

Addiction to porn is a form of sex addiction and it's very real. It definitely can disrupt lives and ruin them.

However, for that to happen to an 8 or 9 year old--that's just ridiculous. I don't know if 8 or 9 year olds can be "addicted" to anything.

You have to realize, the mormon definition of porn "addiction" is looking at porn more than once-- whether a couple times a week, a month, or couple times a year. Most people outide of mormonism and other consertive sects would consider it an addiction only if it interferes with normal life.

Right, I was only responding to the comment that the OP never heard of addiction to porn unless it was from some "Mormon or religious nut." Just pointing out that it does exist, isn't frivolous, is dealt with a lot, does ruin lives as much as any other addiction, shouldn't be taken lightly, and that there are 12-step groups for it as well. I don't agree with the Mormon definition either, of course, but to be honest, I don't agree with the Mormon definition of anything.

That would be a bad situation when the 8 year olds know more about sex than the people who've been married for 20 years.

I'm wondering what their definition of porn is. The object of most porn on the internet is to get money (just like the church). I just can't see a 8 or 9 y.o. getting to use their parent's credit card to sign up for porn.

Yes, I agree that some people may have a true addiction to porn, but are bishops and stake presidents train professionals in such addictions? I'm guessing no.

I also have to wonder if we can say some members are addicted to church? That they put the church before the basic needs of themselves and their families.

Around age 9, I saw my first vagina in a Hustler magazine found in the bushes. (No pun)

I was not impressed with that part of the female anatomy until several years later...

I am not in any way addicted to porn...

It may have something to do with my first visual...

Just sayin'

Kids are watching porn more often now that they have access to smartphones and iPods and fast internet connection. It's just getting sick. I just watched a news program about 13 year old girls dressing "sexy" and posing for their phones... what are they sending each other behind their parent's back?

This world is just getting more fucked up. And I don't really blame the technology, I blame bad parenting. Parents just aren't teaching morals in their kids like ours did. Kids are growing up clueless and learning everything from the internet or TV. The Mormons may be right about decaying morality, but it's not for the reasons they think.

Hey they were saying the same thing 25-30 years ago.

Many elementary & junior high boys I knew back then had seen either Hustler or Penthouse or both, & probably some other tawdry rag. Girls emulated Madonna, & dressed like very revealingly, even girls in elementary school.

(Playboy isn't porn, IMHO.)

..."have you ever looked at pictures or videos of scantily dressed women?"

"Yes."

"How many times."

"Twice."

"You're addicted to porn."

Mormons can't have sex before marriage, can't masturbate, can't watch a rated R movie, and can't even think about sex without having to sing a hymn. Then they wonder why they have a porn addiction problem. And yeah, what exactly does "addicted to porn" mean anyway? I don't think it means what they think it means, because I knew someone in one of those Mormon "addiction programs" and she was as normal as normal can be. I felt so bad for her the way these people were messing with her mind and her sexuality. Stupid cult.
