The following is an exert from the platform for the GOP convention of 1856.

"The delegates got right down to business the first day by adopting a platform. The key plank was firm opposition to the extension of slavery. "It is the duty of Congress to prohibit in the territories those twin relics of barbarism, polygamy and slavery." The polygamy reference was aimed at the Mormon settlement in Utah territory."

I got to thinking that polygamy is much better than slavery.

You don't have to pay for your wives so it's cheaper.

In most cases you should be able to beat up your wife(s) but with a slave you would probably get your ass kicked.

Throw in the group sex dynamic and hands down polygamy is a much more efficient and entertaining system of oppressing our fellow humans.

This is proof that god told them what to do.
