Now it makes sense.. Buy property at Heber City's Red Ledges gated private community and get a Mercedes Benz SUV.

Will the other GA get the same color?

Cottage..?

This is mere proof that he is called of God. God does not want some guy who dresses poorly and lives in a hovel like some apprentice carpenter or something.

You reminded me of "Zorro: the Gay Blade":

"Remember, there is no sin in being poor; only dressing poorly!"

The price of the homes are obviously inflated to cover the cost of the vehicle, and taking 30 years to pay off a car is a foolish thing to do. But we're dealing with people who believe you can get out of debt by throwing 10% of gross income at a ponzi scheme, so...

It makes me sick thinking about how rich the 12 are, and how much they are profiting from being 'men of God', while there are plenty of regular people who are paying tithing when they really can't afford to.

I like what cludgie said, and it's true- we never see apostles that are just regular, middle class men. But no, it is always someone who is already pretty high ranking in the church and well off. Apparently those are the people that are most worthy in God's eyes.

Now I understand where my MIL learned to exaggerate about the size of their second home. When mentioning their new SMALL second home in St. George, emphasis was on the SMALL. In fact, conveying that the house was SMALL was on the top of the priority list when mentioning the SMALL home.....Then we Googled the address and found out the house is not SMALL at all.

I have a friend who knows the interior decorator for the Uchtdorft home. He evidently took the $95,000 custom décor option instead of the Mercedes.

These are the same people that are telling church members to pay their tithing before paying mortgage or putting food on the table. Meanwhile, they are living in luxury.

Jesus: "So Uchdoft have you given up your everything you have so that you will have treasure in heaven?"

Uchdoft: "No thanks, I'll take the Mercedes instead."

Reminds me a lot of televangelism. Which is funny considering how many times I've heard mormons boast with pride that THEIR religion doesn't have paid clergy.
