I noticed in another thread here that the leadership structure of TSCC is changing a little bit to give the appearance of placing more leadership in the hands of females. I know, it's a veneer, but that's not my point.

I also notice that there is a far gentler public face regarding the treatment of GLBT people.

I happen to think both of these "adjustments" are purely window dressing, but I have to ask why even those efforts are being made.

Thoughts that come to mind are:

- Desperation in the face of escalating departures

- Blow-back from the Romney loss

- A shift in grand strategy to try to draw more people to a crummy product

What do you all think?

In my opinion, Romney publicized their religion in a way that was beyond their control and they got the kind of feedback and criticism from the general public that is showing them how strange and bass-ackwards they really are compared to contemporary culture.

They're trying to catch up and fit in.

Can you imagine their pride and stick-to-the-rod attitude had Romney won? I shudder.

The community I live in is predominantly--suffocatingly--Mormon, and I wondered for a while how things would change here if he had won.

I have noticed a lot more personal publicity for being Mormon where I live since the election. They're less conservative about it. I guess this is their way of "walking it off" after an injury.
