Lubricated by a fine bottle of Aussie Shiraz, I had a nice little chat with Brian and Seth, on the UK version of chat with a mormon.

I asked them if they have a prophet, what prophesies have been declared recently. The answer.......

No prophesy about the GFC, natural disasters, cure for AIDS, cure for cancer, stop child abuse, stop starvation etc etc etc etc

A talk about telling the children not to questin the old guys was the best they came up with.

I asked them why do you call him a prophet if he doesn't make any prophecies.

No answer, unsrprisingly

I had better luck with the UK mishies than with the US. They didn't run when I brought up polygamy in heaven, which made the US mishies leave the building. However I did preface my questions in that what I learned was from a Mark Hoffman book and I wanted to know if it was true.
