No, not because I'm a TBM against Caffeine but because of the awful experience I'm dealing with right now. For some reason or other, I just haven't been sleeping right, so I sleep in during the day. And my dad figured this just won't do. I'm a tiny 16 year old girl. He gives me two caffeine pills as soon as he wakes me up after four hours of sleep. Only three of which were continuous. Now my typing has been slowed. I've been nauseous. My hands are shaky. I've had random headaches and dizziness. And I know to make the nausea go away, is to eat, do you know how hard it is to eat when you're nauseous, and the thought of water right now makes me want to puke. My dad asks how I'm doing later on, I tell him some of the symptoms and all he says is "So the caffeine pills didn't agree with you."

WTF????????

No freaking apology. UGH! If I never live in this house again after I move out, it will be too soon!

I had just woken up. And to resist an argument, which happened anyway. I took the pills.

And trust me if he pulls that again I'm throwing the pills back at him and the cup of water. I don't care if it results in a grounding for a YEAR! This torture is NOT worth it!

Let your body rest, it is telling you that you NEED to rest. Everything else with your body will work itself out. Get outta that house as soon as you can! Go to an out of state school.

Out of country college sounds more appealing. France looks really interesting.

Wish I could rest. The best I can do right now is rant here on the laptop and attempt to do some schoolwork until it's an "appropriate time" to go to sleep.

Going to get the sleep a teenager actually NEEDS which is NOT four freaking hours contrary to my father's belief. Wish me luck and sweet dreams, I could use a nice one.

I have severe DSPS - Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome, which is very real, and genetic. It often begins in adolescence, and can be diagnosed by a doctor specializing in sleep disorders, who are often neurologists or pulmonologists or other doctors who specialize in sleep medicine. Regardless of what your problem is, it would be best to discuss it with a doctor.

If you are that sick from caffeine pills you should not take them. It could be the pills, but if you have another condition it can be dangerous. When I have prolonged nausea it is a seizure, and stimulants are seizure triggers. Either way nausea is not a good thing, because you need to eat, and be healthy to function.

If not a doctor, can you talk to a school nurse about this treatment from your family?

anon, if he ever does that again and you feel pressured to take them, just put them in the corner of your mouth until he's gone, then spit them out.

You took 400 mg, which is a large dose all at once, especially if your caffeine intake is low to begin with. Your symptoms are correct. It will take some time for these to subside, probably several hours. Then you will crash hard, and hopefully sleep well. Next time, take a half a pill, which is about the same as three 12 oz cokes. At most, take one whole pill, but never two at the same time.

You don't need to go to the emergency room unless you have chest pain. Caffeine is a very mild drug. Tylenol is much more dangerous than caffeine in high doses.

No chest pain thankfully. And really? I'm going to crash afterwords? YAY! Cuz I tried to go to sleep. And I just. CAN'T! ugh. It doesn't make sense, was THIS going through his brain?: "Oh she can't sleep? Alright, let's make sure to keep that effect!"

Depending on your age and size, you should never take more than one at a time! That's too much caffeine and all at once! GAH!

Wow. A caffeine rush. AND a bad reaction. Not good.

Has your father practised being an idiot for a long time? If so, he can graduate. I now declare him to have earned his PhD in Idiocy. He is now to be known as Dr Idiot, PhD. ;o))

I am happiest when I am making other people happy.

Does that sound a bit sad? Ah, bollocks to it! I suddenly realise I don't care! ;o))

How long do you guys think before I'm going to crash? Taken at 10 A.M Mountain time. It's near 6 P.M now. I'm 16, and I weigh about 110-115.

About as soon as your body rids itself of the caffeine, which is kind of an individual thing. I can have a cup of coffee at 3 p.m. and still be up at 2 a.m. from it, and I drink coffee regularly.

Try Googling it and see if you can find out the average caffeine effect.

Part of this might be anxiety, too, causing a feedback loop.

I recommend some meditation to help bring yourself down.

Don't go anyway, tell your dad you're sick from the pills. Maybe next time he won't be so handy with them.

Yea. No seminary tomorrow regardless of what happens sounds like a good idea. I'll update tomorrow about how it went. For now. We wait for my inevitable crash.

Pretty much just blurted out about him overdosing me. He says he realized he did. I told him I still feel sick. And said something about fourteen hours of sleep and me having some sort of cold, I correct him with how I got FOUR hours of sleep, and THAT relates to some sort of cold. He only accepts to believe that the caffeine has worn off by now. But he's never giving me that much again, I think I hurt his feelings so much(he said I was hurting his feelings), he's not going to give caffeine to me. And I'm kinda half-glad I hurt his feelings. How does he think I feel? It was terrifyingly depressing having that quivering and what not, which was completely uncontrollable. Now, if we could only get to the "crash" part of this overdose.

He would've felt LOTS worse if he'd ended up with you in the ER.

Give it time...it will wear off. And remember, real coffee is good stuff, it's actually good for you in moderation, so never drink too much of it, I usually stop at about 6 cups - of espresso. :)

Just don't take ANY caffeine at least 5 hours before bed time.
