I just watched it this afternoon and seem to recall someone mentioning that it was not popular with TBM's

what's the deal?

probably the anti-consumerist pro-enviromentalist message of the film... I suspect it is more of a cultural than doctrinal issue.

I have no idea.

but the movie shows degenerated humans on a space ship who, through a number of generations, grew into fat and immobile couch potatoes. Ultimately they realized that breaking out from the rule of some cold and computerized big-brother type system was the only way to go. For that they had to give up their comfort zone.

Could it be that some Mormons feel exposed because their temple worthiness morale made them complacent and unwilling to change?
The Morg is built on maintaining your comfort zone as long as its within the bounds set by the temple recommend.
