Facebook is a giant, "Let me show everyone how devout I am" fest.

NO ONE cares.

For people who claim to have special knowledge, and the truth, they really feel the need to self validate, all of the time.

Because they are fucking annoying..

I am very hesitant to open FB today. It is sooo sickening.

It's maddening. And nauseating.

It's like going to the temple. They are pressured into publicly saying - oh,I totally get it, wow!- amazing how many people that experience weekly communion with The Lord in the temple haven't got a clue as to what he taught. Same with GC, they all get their emotional and mistake it for spiritual enlightenment. They will all forget what great life changing insights the had at about 9 pm tonight. They will only remover how they FELT.

Tell them you thought GC looks like a scene from Night of the Living Dead.

Mormons have a huge pride problem. No understanding of what being humble actually is.

Everything in the church is a see-and-be-seen situation - people are forced into the game so they look good to others and, therefore, their superiors. It's the only way to move up in the ranks and be regarded as spiritual enough to warrant temple attendance and such. It's a sick, sick game.

TOTALLY dead on! "Look at me, I'm in the club, our family is so perfect and happy!"

For the same reason people feel compelled to bare their testimonies. It helps to quite their doubts and furthers the brainwashing.

Wow. If he was in a rest home with a crocheted shawl on his lap and a bib under his drooling mouth, you'd think he was off on one of his stories like grandpa Simpson. Doddering old fart.

I don't get it. My TBM friend posted a pic of conference on their TV while they were watching it. What is the big deal with being righteous anyway? It's not that cool!

It makes me mad that they can all say, "I LOVE CONFERENCE!!!" and " I don't care what anyone says! R rated movies are disgusting!"
But I can't say:
"I don't care what anyone says, Conference is disgusting!"

they are all going on my non-wall list!

I think they really do love it.

I loved getting a week off church.

The more you display, the more you can feel superior to others.

Remember when they all testified every week "I know it's true" - from the SP on down?

It is nauseating on facebook right now.

They DIDN'T love conference. It's just a case of "fake it until you make it"

I remember the last GC broadcast I attended at the Stake House, before it started a missionary came to say hello to us & said to us to enjoy the conference.
I said oh I've not come to watch conference, I've come for a sleep.
The look on his face was priceless!! He didn't know whether I was serious or just joking.
For your information I was very serious, I always fell asleep in GC even as a TBM, it was the sheer boredom & the grinding monotone all the speakers spoke in.

They should play this crap to dental patients they need to knock out.

of having been told to share The Gospel™, so it's fresh in their minds, and trying to convince themselves. Most of them are too embarrassed to share it with non-Mormons, so they share it with each other.

The only thing saving me is my plethora of non LDS FB friends.

Because they don't want to be laughed at for sitting through eight hours of tedium that got them absolutely nothing -- spiritual, intellectual or otherwise.
