Too bad, for both him and the membership, that the rules don't allow him to retire and enjoy his remaining time on earth more peacefully.
Why not bend the rules? Put him and BKP -- and any other members of the 15 that need a rest -- into "advisory" roles, retaining their seniority, and put in an acting church president.
I have always theorized that the plan was for Romney to loose the election, spend a little time in 70; get bumped up the Quorum of 12 and then fast tracked into profithood.
He just seems like he'd make such a slick profit..
