I agree. Businesses with too much money on their hands are on the lookout to BUY other businesses - in this case, LDS Corp would likely be in an acquisition phase.

Perhaps they could get Romney/Bain Capital to search out some undervalued churches and use their predatory practices to buy them cheap, tear them apart, and sell off the pieces. The members of these congregations, however, would not be thrown out of work, but rather absorbed into the collective.

They could come buy the catholics church's buildings in Quebec.
Most of them are only used at Christmas, Easter and for a couple of weddings and funerals... A lot of the chapels have been bought and transformed into theatres, gyms for mountain climbing practice, brewery, houses, etc.
As for the congregations, well there are not much left... hum,l maybe it wouldn't be worth it after all, I mean, there are not that many people here interested in another religion ;)

In my fantasy, the Church slowly becomes a major wholesale food distribution corporation, Mormo Foods. They parlay their "clean and wholesome" image into scaring people about contaminated food and they show their farms and slaughterhouses all operating with volunteer workers who make covenants to wash their hands and observe all the laws of cleanliness.

The temples are their distribution centers and only members of their "religion" of wholesomeness and kindness to animals are given cards which allow them to purchase at Mormo Foods.

The world is starving and many join the Mormo coop and donate 10% of their income, or they donate full time work in order to insure the survival of their families in the famine of the last days.

I know Paul Drockton is suspect and prints some pretty outrageous stuff, but what he says here can be verified by public records if you look deep enough.

Steven Davis, whose father Clyde was very highly placed within the Mormon Church, claims the following:

"Robert Vincent de' Oliverri joined the LDS Church through two missionaries knocking at his residence and him joining.

Robert was the second richest man in the World, a Rothschild.
