With cell phones and other devices that record video, why not start recording encounters with church members or missionaries if they show up at your house? If they don't like it, they can leave.

We know the church hates bad PR.

Someone needs to try this and report. Be sure you tell them you are doing it.

The problem is, they always take us by surprise.

My harassers stopped a little less than a week ago after I fired off a series of strongly-worded letters. If they show up again, I'm taking my voice recorder and my little ancient video camera to the door. Bring 'em on!

I just don't answer the door. The scouts came to my house yesterday and knocked. I went to the window saw who it was and sat back on the couch. They saw me through the window and I pretended that I couldn't see them.

I do this every time someone associated with the church comes by.

I think the phone idea would be great protection during a meeting with a bishop, sp or bp, too, esp. when it involves young people. It's a brilliant idea, btw, dk.

think we can get any daring teens to record using their phone their interview with their bishop so we can hear first hand their overly personal questions?

I would love for teens to do this.

Start recording and tell them you don't what any contact from the church and you're making a record of it. Then contact the church and let them know if you're contacted again, the video will be on you tube.

I don't know why I didn't think of this.
i once had a neighbor with a chronically barking dog. I set a camera up on a tripod on my deck that was pointed at the dog kennel. The camera was old. No technical capabilities to do what I was implying.
I never heard the dog bark again.

If the mo's ever show up again, i'll tell them to wait a minute. Go get my cell phone and act like i'm filming them. I'm guessing they will leave and not come back. It's worth a shot.
