I am not a wine connoisseur but I do enjoy wine with a meal or cheese very much. I often ask one of the local wine merchants to recommend something. And as for cheese, I love really old cheddar,
real Italian Parmigiano Regiano, and sometimes Brie or Camembert on crackers....

I don't drink wine (yet.) but cheese . . . is there not a more glorious food than cheese? (Yes, I'm weird.)
Sharp cheddar, asiago, feta, edam, gouda, mizithra, brie, cotija; I haven't eaten a type of cheese I don't like.

I forgot to mention Bleu...really funky, brings tears to your eyes Bleu....sometimes I just gotta buy a chunk and eat it all...a guilty pleasure for sure...plus there are hundreds if not thousands of cheeses I haven't tried yet. I see travel shows where they feature cheese shops in Italy....I guess another trip to Europe is in order...

I don't shop at whole foods, mostly because it's a very long way from where I live.

However, i've been there a couple of times when they were having cheese tastings. It was a great way to taste different things and learn a lot about different cheeses. I wish more grocery stores would do this.

Myself i've gotten so I like to use the potato peeler and shave off pieces of parmigiano reggiano mingled with sips of red wine. Ummm.

Rising sun farms marion berry cheese torta with water crackers is to die for. A wonderful thing to put out if you have guests and want a cheese, cracker, wine lay out that everyone will like.

I love going to Epcot with DW, enrolling a wine and cheese tasting seminar during the Food and Wine festival and indulging every moment.

Smoked Gouda with water crackers...ahhhh.
