I am deferring to others that insist RFM isn't the source, so I changed the topic line.

Is it acceptable to notice that RFM is the only BB observed here so far out of several others that so fully interacts with serveads?

How the Hell do I get rid of this annoying servead BS!

Or in lieu of making half-assed accusations, you could discuss this with admin and find out if RFM really is the source.

Just sayin'

I can stand to be corrected in this instance far more than I can tolerate the serveads malware. Just sayin....

Or there would be tons of people with the same problem. However, I will see if I can get someone to help you.

I have no way of knowing if there are tons of ppl with similar problems, at least not until now. (thats a one step forward in this process). but I do have half a ton of problems to go along with my "half ass accusation".

I would love to have a resolution. Thanks.

I don't see how this is likely, especially since there are no other reports, but what is happening?

I find it hard to believe that your problems are coming from RfM, from what I can tell, ServeAd programs must be downloaded and installed on your system. Also, in order to be legal, they need your permission to install it.

My guess would be that you have accidently gotten it when downloading something you actually wanted. Most likely it came bundled with some useful application you downloaded and installed from the internet. You probably actually gave them permission to install this adware by agreeing to those "terms and conditions" that no one ever reads. You can probably get rid of it with any number of free anti-virus software programs available. I use AVG myself. I'm sure its not the best available, but its worked reliably for me so far.

Nothing showed up on my computer...I also use AVG (the paid for version) and it's pretty vigilant.

It's not RfM. You've been infected from somewhere else and are just seeing the symptoms here.

Here's a thread on how to get rid of servad infection:

Nope that's not how malware works. You can't get it from standard html pages.

http://superantispyware.com/

They have free version. Try it out and see if it solves your problem. I use the "Professional Version" and have been happy with it. I won't guarantee that it will fix your problem but it is worth a try.

Malwarebytes is a great program.
once every couple of weeks, I run Malwarebytes and a full AVG scan.
I download torrents or my favourite tv programs and have never had a problem - mainly (I think) due to AVG and MWB.
