I hope I am not the only one who has seen the light. I served under Larry Call and Richard Heaton, 1993-1995. I just read my "Missionary Journal" the other day and just can't believe how I used to think!
Not a missionary, but I lived there from 2001-2005 during an assignment to Fairchild AFB. I loved it there and would like to go back. Especially right now, Spokane is having a very mild summer.
We hosted a lot of Missionaries in our home for dinner and I went out on splits with the Sister Missionaries several times. I also remember feeding the missionaries for a zone conference several times.
I was in the Medical Lake Ward - full of military and retirees.
Larry Call is from Star Valley. I would be interested in knowing what kind of Mission President he was. He is a great guy and has been a good friend for many years. He is now the stake patriarch.
His younger brother, Val Call, was MP in Everett about the same time. Anybody here serve under him?
They are the sons of Ruel Call who started the business that eventually became Maverick Country Stores. Both brothers worked in the business and helped to make it so successful.
I was there at exactly the same time. Don't attend and mentally out but not officially. call always treated me well and I still remember his wife coming to clean my apartment a few times and she never made me feel bad about it. Wasn't a fan of Heaton. I remember his wife making a comment about studying to much and worrying I'd leave the church.....guess she got that right.
