Why are so many Polynesians Mormon? I've read about the history of Easter Island and the "hanau eepe" that invaded the island sometime after the first Polynesians arrived but that is real history, not the fantasy as told in the "Book of Mormon:"

"And it came to pass that Hagoth, he being an exceedingly curious man, therefore he went forth and built him an exceedingly large ship, on the borders of the land Bountiful, by the land Desolation, and launched it forth into the west sea, by the narrow neck which led into the land northward."

"And behold, there were many of the Nephites who did enter therein and did sail forth with much provisions, and also many women and children; and they took their course northward. And thus ended the thirty and seventh year."

"And in the thirty and eighth year, this man built other ships. And the first ship did also return, and many more people did enter into it; and they also took much provisions, and set out again to the land northward."

"And it came to pass that they were never heard of more. And we suppose that they were drowned in the depths of the sea. And it came to pass that one other ship also did sail forth; and whither she did go we know not."

(Alma 63:5-8)

Note the bad grammar and the direction. Were they trying to go north to Mexico or Baja California instead of west out into the Pacific -- Smith, Ridgon & Co. should have thought of that...

This makes no sense if the ship had already returned once having reached its destination and dropped off its first passengers.
The returning ship would have described the destination where it had left a boatload of people.
There's no good reason to think that because the second voyage never returned, the passengers of the first voyage were lost too. They never bothered to go get them?
That's a stupid story, obviously made up (probably by Spalding since he was big into ocean voyages in his Roman-American manuscript...which contains lots of capriciousness like that).

Don't you know that according to the apologists, north actually means south in the BOM??? Lol. Stupid apologists. Stupid boring work of fiction. Stupid MORmONS for believing it.

Hagoth sailed north on Lake Michigan and ended up in Canada, eh.
Thats why there are so many mormons in Alberta.

I don't know many that take it all too seriously.
