I just heard that the attempt to rezone some pristine southern Alberta ranch land to facilitate the MORG building a camp for young women was defeated by Cardston County council. I am surprised and elated by the result. I would have thought that in Cardston County anything the MORG wanted was a slam dunk.....I guess not...

To develop the land into a resort/hotels/shopping mall/apartments, like they are doing in Laie, Hawaii, with what was once protected land?

Isn't there oil under that land in Canada? Maybe they want to start drilling.

Maybe the Mormon higher-ups and their families want yet another private hunting and fishing venue, like they have in Idaho and Florida.

You have both nailed it! They do to care one bit about young women (other than keeping them virgins).

I guess an "invitation" to follow the prophet wouldn't have the same effect as it did on the folks in the MTC neighborhood.
