Biting my tongue around my grandkids

I have a very smart and inquisitive 7 year old granddaughter. I was visiting there this afternoon and she said "how did heavenly father get born if he didn't have this planet yet?" My TBM daughter jumped in with the mormon answer about creation, other planets, matter unorganized, etc. I just wanted to roll my eyes and call BS, but of course, I can't, if I want peace.

My grandparents were apostates.

It didn't take too long to figure out that they were forbidden to speak of it. We all saw the dirty looks from Mom.

They had to be content with just being our favorite relatives and telling us stories of growing up with all the usual Mormon problems.

Half of us got out. I wish I could thank them. It's one of my few real regrets with people who are no longer around.
