From what I've read and seen, Exmormon.org has been a great help and support for Exmormons and those extra curious, soon-to-be-exmormon, TBMs; however, I am wondering, if there more that I/We could do in order to increase worldwide exposure to the true history and dirty deeds of Mormonism. Since I don't know how many people actually "wake-up" from the Mormon cult's comatose indoctrination by reading through web sites like Exmormon.org, I might be underestimating the force behind the Exmoromon Foundation, and if I am then I apologize.

I DO know that there are a TON of web sites that serve to expose Mormonism and provide post-mormons support, but I am so new at this, and I just don't know if there is enough exposure and post-Mormon support or how well this exposure and support is working. I very well could be wasting my time by wanting to do more, as it seems that quite a bit is already happening to inform members, but I just can't seem to shut-off this inner fire I have where I want all Mormons to resign LAST WEEK! I just feel so damn bad that so many people have been deceived, and I feel guilty that I am not doing more.

Perhaps this is a horrible and terrible desire, and, believe me, I don't pretend to know whether the happiness I have since leaving Mormonism is the same happiness that everyone else will have once they leave Mormonism.

So My questions are this:

1. Can I/we do more to help people realize the truth about Mormonism?

2. If I/we can do more, then do you have any suggestions or ideas on how to help more TBMs realize the truth about Mormonism and offer support to those who have left Mormonism?

3. SHOULD I/we even be thinking about doing more, or by doing more would I/we be hurting the expsoure/post-mormons support efforts?

Thanks guys and gals!

I can't imagine being one of those people who found out the truth 20, 30, 40 years ago and has to watch the church continue its evil reign. I've only known two years and can hardly bare that it still exists.

I want so much to spread the word and help everyone out of the church. I keep thinking of sending a mass email to all of my relatives with the list of Joseph smith's wives' ages and other husbands. Without any commentary. I think lots of people just don't know and if they did, they would leave.

Too bad we're not super rich then we could buy airtime on the major networks like the President's State of the Union address. That would really get the word out.

Sorry I don't have any practical ideas. Hopefully others do.

Also, the mass resignation of June 30th seems like a great idea. I'm hoping it will get some media coverage since a Mormon is running for prez. Hopefully it will make people wonder. I think we should do more things like that.

I know how you feel. I want to free people from all mind-controlling belief systems...Mormons, JWs, Scientologists...but am not sure how I can really help.

Just know that, sadly, if you try to share the things you've learned with your TBM friends, there's a good chance they'll call it "propaganda" and shun you rather than see the truth.

And I feel the same way, only after 10 years of exmormonism I have extended that sentiment to all fundie religions of the world. This idiocy is trying to take over the world, and frightening enough it's succeeding very well.

I thought about that too when I really feel enraged...like I want to rent those huge bulletin boards on the sides of the road and shout it out! My simple mind. :)

Here's some ideas on how to spread the truth we've all discovered:

Man, i'm telling everyone I know close to me what a bunch of cockamammie bullshit it all is. Shortened version of course, but I hope they spread the word too! I wish someone had told me! Magic underwear...what??? I don't know about those that have a close 'vested' interest would care to spread the word? Not sure about that, but I hope so! Doing my part...:)

Mormons seek more truth when they desire more truth. The key is desire. A member needs to get to the place of discontentment before they will open their eyes. It is right in front of them if they will just look. They can see it right there in sacrament. In relief society. Open eyes look around and observe and listen.

One thing I have heard over and over on these boards is something like "I thought I was the only one that had doubts"

One way to reach people like that is to become more visible.

A way to start is to create a symbol that can be accepted, worn, displayed, put on a bumper sticker, etc... How many non-gay people know what the gay pride flag is?

Have very public, fun events where exmos gather in mass for something fun. Something along the lines of "gay days" at Disneyland or Disney world http://www.gayday2.com/html/home.html these are weekend events where all sorts of gays show up at the Disney resorts wearing red shirts.

In Utah especially making the exmo more visible would probably do wonders for those in TSCC that are starting to doubt.

I would think something like an annual exmo ski weekend in Park City would draw a fun crowd.

I was just thinking, a couple of weeks ago someone posted something about an exmo scholarship. I could start a scholarship fund that is awarded to the kid with the best resignation letter. I know, I know that's terrible, but, we'd probably see some pretty damn good resignation letters.

it's funny you mention about that 'look of discontentment.' I was a Mormon for such a short time, but when I was I had a strong liking for the Relief Society President. I just like her, personality, kind, just seemed genuine. I saw her on Friday night at my daughter's wedding reception after a few years, I got another person, it seemed. It was just a vibe I was getting...that look of discontentment? I could be totally wrong, but it could be that she is just going through alot of life changes (and she is), so it could be that. Just my observation and something I think about. Not the right time to bring that up of course, but I do think about her often.
