Being the sceptic I am, I'd like to see more evidence that DCP really got fired from Farms.

I think DCP's (and everyone else's who would usually jump to defend his character) silence on the matter is probably a good indicator of its legitimacy.

Of course it could be a scam, in which case DCP will be seen to be continuing in the role of editor of The Review and will enter on his blog some piece about the gullability of the rabid anti mormons...

The two emails were sent to Dr Scratch (on another board I cannot name!) by an informer within the Maxwell Institute.

I don't know for certain who that informer is but they are very likely to be the same insider who leaked the intel on the John Dehlin hit piece to Dr Scratch and John Dehlin. We KNOW for a fact from multiple sources (including DCP) that that piece of intel was exceedingly true.

Consequently, I feel almost certain that the whole thing is true. The MDD board appears to be confirming it because it has pretty much locked down any discussion of DCP.

If the DCP email IS a fraud (which is highly unlikely) it is an absolute cracker because the email has DCP electrons buzzing out of it.

I can't imagine that either DCP or FARMS wouldn't have made some kind of comment on this if it were false--and certainly such a denial would have made it deep into the Mopologetic blogosphere by now.

I have no doubt that any breaking news regarding DCP will appear on this board. It's only a matter of time before we find out exactly what went down at Farms.

I have fireworks lined up on the front lawn and sparkling white wine in the fridge, waiting for absolute confirmation of this piece of news before I light up the fireworks and break out the bottle. Or is it the other way round? Not that I think Denial Crazy Peterson will want for another lazy-@$$ job within the cult. I just need a reason to celebrate.

Reading the resignation email (supposedly) written by DCP (and posted on another site) is very revealing.

A couple items I noticed:

. His wife predicted his being fired would happen while he was out of town.

. He was surprised by its actually happening.

Question: How come his wife--the non-priesthood holder--was able to predict what would happen, but he--the priesthood holder (and therefore supposedly with superior divining powers)--was "surprised" by it?

. Who paid for and arranged the dinner where the use of Maxwell's name for the institute was celebrated--with church representatives present to confirm the approval?
(Haven't we been assured by church representatives that the church isn't involved in FARMS, etc.)

I am always skeptical of anyone calling themselves

So, maybe DCP's gone from FARMS, but it was voluntary, right? Not a paid position? Someone please correct me if I am in error.

So..why was he dropped from FARMS?? Personality, or philosophical differences?

The closing paragraph from DCP's email:

"I understand that some contract issues may be affected by my resignation as Director of Advancement. I trust that we can work those out in a civil manner. Pending my dismissal from METI, I will insist that I continue to be compensated as a director in my role, which I will now have more time for, as its editor in chief. I also expect my usual fee as editor of the issue of the Mormon Studies Review that you've killed. It was finished and ready to go."

So IF the email is actually from DCP, there seems to be money involved.
