and see if the results are the same. There is a post running now that made me think of it, the one about after leaving mo'ism, did you return to Christianity and a Christian church?

The results last time were very interesting, that about 95% of BIC mormons left Christ behind for good after leaving TSCC, and about 95% of converts (from other Christian religions) joined again with a Christian church and found fulfillment there.

So the 2 questions are #1- as an exmo, were you originally BIC, or a convert? If a a convert was it from a Christian religion?

And #2- after leaving mo'ism did you again join a Christian church or come to not believe in Christ as well?

(Just edited and changed a few words to be more clear- I think the original was concerning converts from Christianity to Mormonism.) I hope I worded that last part better, Cheryl.

That term always strikes me as slightly insulting and a little off.

I don't think anyone is a loser for finding out that the mormon church is a fraud. Nor have they misplaced anything.

I was BIC and it took years after leaving the morg to reach my present atheist mindset. I do feel a fondness for Jesus and his teachings though.

I know what you mean, bad choice of words, help me out here- what would be a better way to say it? - I know you know what I mean.
Would, " Giving up all belief in Christ " be better? I am not sure how to best word it.

my parents joined the church when I was 8. when I left Mormonism I joined a Christian church but I do not believe Jesus was anything more than a Jewish rabbi who taught a philosophy of holiness that revolved around the golden rule and taught as Hillel did that the Law was made for man and not man for the Law. and the Law only applied to the house of Israel.

I was a convert at age 12. I'm having a little trouble with the Christ as literal incarnation of god stuff. More realistic to believe that he was just a great social reformer and spiritual leader. Most Christians go farther than that so I'm a little confused at the moment but I still believe in God. Or at least, some sort of afterlife. Maybe the spaceship Enterprise will turn up and Captain Kirk will beam me up after death. Oh wait, that was Scotty....

BIC to atheist, though I have a fondness for large beautiful trees that might be gods, I don't know. So, I guess I'm agnostic on the tree part.

BIC, now atheist. However, I did spend some time looking into other Christian religions before I came to the conclusion that it's all a bunch of hooey.

I attended the LDS church from childhood through high school, although I wasn't actually BIC. My mom is a nevermo and my dad has long been inactive.

I'm now agnostic and married to an exmo atheist.

I just threw out a cultic form of Christianity, called mormonism.

Mormonism resembles a pharisee cult, rather than Christianity. Even Jesus attacked performance based, ego driven religious beliefs know as the pharisees.

When I converted, I *thought* I was joining a Christian church (please don't laugh) (okay, go ahead and laugh) with expanded knowledge of Christ.

When I discovered TSCC was a fraud, I left it (went inactive is all, so far), but I still had / have my Christ.

Have no intention of EVER joining another man-made church of any kind. Most "Christians" I know are judgmental in a way my Christ would NEVER be. My Christ loves unconditionally--everyone.

I was BIC.
Now I am agnostic.

I don't know if there is a god and neither does anyone else.

I don't much care either. It won't change the way I live my life. Don't need the carrot and stick routine to live a moral life and treat people like I would like to be treated.
