it's also for securing the bonds between a couple through intimacy (and as we scientific thinkers know, through the release of hormones and reward chemicals in the brain).
So, the stance the CULT takes on gay marriage and relationships is pretty much relying on the whole lack-of-procreation argument, saying that gay sex is unnatural because there is no hope for a child to result from it.
Of course this ignores completely infertile heteros, who if they were told they should only have sex if there is hope for procreations, would be in the same boat as gays - i.e miserable and lonely.
This would also exclude the occasional diversion taken by heterosexual CULT members into the sordid realms of oral sex, AKA, a face fv(<. Despite no one dredging up the Kimball stand on oral sex, I believe the CULT still frowns on oral sex, or is that frowns at oral?
Anyway, the admission by the CULT that sex is also for creating a loving bond between a couple kinda blows their only-sex-for-reproduction-is-normal argument out of the water. Every sexually active human since year dot knows that women get "clingy" after sex, and that men get "clingy" before sex, whether another human was created in the process or not.
Sex is more than a choice people make when they want to reproduce. If that were the case, there would not be 6,500,000,000 humans alive today.
