I left the church - became athiest rejected the BOM then Read Christopher Marc Nemelka's Sealed Portion. He claims he was vizited by a resurected Joseph Smith and Moroni, given the golden plates and translated the missing 116 pages and the sealed portion.

I believe him and I believe that it is in fact the sealed portion. However - nobody I know cares enough about the Sealed Portion to actually discuss with me if it is the real thing.

Anybody like to prove me wrong that Chris has the Sealed Portion talked about in the BOM?

His 300+ Page Sealed Portion can be downloaded for free at http://www.marvelousworkandawonder.com/tsp/index.htm

because I'd hate to think you were serious and really THAT gullible.

The first 520 pages was dreck literature about an obviously non-existent people. It is riddled with archeological non-sequiters. No way did it actually happen.

The only thing that can be determined from the sealed portion is whether Nemelka is a better fiction writer than whoever wrote the BoM, and that is a low hurdle to clear.

At least L Ron Hubbard was a professional writer. Believe in Xinu if you are bound and determined to swallow nonsense.

The more significant a claim, the more significant the evidence for the claim should be. We use this rule in our daily lives without thinking about it. If someone tells us, "President Obama flew to Israel to meet with the prime minister," we accept that without much critical analysis. But if someone tells us, "President Obama came to my house today for lunch," we're automatically more skeptical.

There are some people who know psychological and emotional tricks that can bypass our natural skepticism -- but it's important to not give someone a free pass when they're making extraordinary claims, especially if it's going to have a big impact on our personal lives.

So Christopher said he has the lost portion of the BoM. What is the evidence? I downloaded it several months ago, but the text alone is not evidence for the claims Christopher makes about its origin. If you were once an atheist, I hope you can appreciate that you have to start out with a skeptical approach in order to find the truth.

First, doubt. Then, check to see if the evidence is convincing.

During my mission in the bible belt I heard and saw a lot of anti-mormon stuff. some classic truths and some blatant lies. But I have not read anything that enlighten me so much of and how the Mormon Church is Evil than that what is written in the sealed portion.

I am not asking for a literary critic. Just how can Christopher Marc Nemelka be a con-artist if he is not trying to get money or start a "church"?- he does however have and is promoting http://wwunited.org/

I can find no problems with wwunited.org do you?

"Demand that our Governments provide FREE food, clothing, housing and health care to ALL human beings using the infrastructure of their existing Social Programs."

Socialism works great until you run out of other peoples money to spend.

The so-called sacred "Founding Fathers" wanted and believed in free education for all, public libraries, public health care. Now all general welfare is labeled socialist which stifles debate. No one says that private citizens benefit from police and libraries only as long as they can spend money of others. Public firefighters, police, libraries, education and health care have always been sustainable by the public but not privately. Don't pretend public health care has not been successful elsewhere either.

The BOM is a fraud, period. There has been zero, repeat zero verifiable evidence of people from the Middle East migrating to the New World circa 600 BC. A huge number of DNA studies of Native Americans, using mitochondrial, Y-Chromosome, and now autsomal (nuclear) DNA have repeatedly shown that the ancestors of the original inhabitants of North and South America originated in Siberia somewhere around 25-30,000 years ago and probably made their way across a land bridge that has existed intermittently between North America and Asia for millions of years.

I've researched ancient seafaring history, techniques, and maritime technologies extensively, and anyone who believes it was possible to make a transoceanic voyage without a heritage and history of sailing is seriously delusional. Lehi's voyage didn't happen. Simple cause-and-effect: The maritime compass was first used around the 12th Century, and lo and behold, Columbus sailed to the New World a few hundred years later.

There's also no credible archaeological evidence for BOM events, period.

Ergo, the story of Lehi is a fraud, and anything claimed to be built on its foundation is equally fraudulent.

And Nemelka's harping on current evils within the LDS culture amounts to simple, "the sky is blue during the day unless it's cloudy" statements.

Thank you, though, for serving as a poster child for LDS gullibility; whether it is genetic or acquired--the jury's still out on that one--it persist long after exiting the church.

What about them? They have nothing to do with "advanced people" from another continent. Why is it so hard to accept that humans entirely isolated from the "cradle of civilization" were just as capable of doing things by themselves? It is insulting to think that America's indigenous people needed help to lay-out and fortify their villages and to build mounds.

You know, if Monson had published the sealed portion the TBMs would be rejoicing and lapping it up. But since Nemelka doesn't have "authority" they can see through it. Too bad they don't take off their blinders with the rest of the BoM.

There is no "sealed portion," plain and simple. If JS can create the BoM, or J.K. Rowling can create Harry Potter, then someone could also invent the sealed portion.

And I have to agree with Brother Holland on this one. I think Mr. Nemelka is a nut.

In other words, just because someone imagined that someone else visited them after they were dead with extra stories for their collection of fairy tales, it doesn't have anything to do with the price of tea in China. No one here really cares -- unless they have a burning interest in really boring fake scriptures.

Yeah, just the type you would trust?

Ida Smith is a lonely woman who has never married, and is being shunned by her family (descendants of Hyrum, and Joseph F. Smith, George Albert Smith) for giving up her Smith family burial plot to Nemelka, and having his name inscribed on the family monument, as the reincarnated Hyrum Smith. You can bet he got his hands on Ida's money, too. This guy is a KNOWN con-man.

Perhaps, if people read the Sealed Portion with an open mind and with no pre-conceived prejudices, then they might be very pleasantly surprised at how the words can affect them.

I have always respected Joseph Smith and what he tried to achieve. He tried to give the people real truth, but the LDS leaders wanted only p'hood authority and total power over the people they dominated. Joseph was betrayed and killed by the very people who were supposed to be his followers. And so the modern LDS church grew into the utter monstrosity it is today - obscenely wealthy and criminally ignoring the poor and the needy in the world.

A true prophet will always be hounded by the religious zealots of the day. Joseph was no different, he paid with his life, and it was the LDS members themselves who were complicit in killing him.

Christopher Nemelka has brought out other books and although they can be controversial at times to modern day thinking, they are packed full of amazing truths that can resonate and illuminate the mind.

Past and current LDS prophets and apostles are nothing more than a highly paid company of rich business conmen who are worshipped and idolised by gullible people into paying over their hard earned money into a modern day babylonic empire. These parasitic exalted ones will be abased and their corruption on a massive scale exposed one day.

Meanwhile the people who are disenchanted with the abomination that is the LDS church, and who have been deeply hurt, perhaps should take some time to read the Sealed Portion. It has the ability to blow away the chains and the poison that the LDS church afflicted on so many of us.

It may come as a complete surprise to you, that your confidence in the origins of the BoM can be restored again after the hijacking and betrayal of this Book by the LDS Church. The Sealed Portion has the real ability to heal the anger and frustration thrust on us by the LDS leaders and can make so much real sense again. Why not give it a chance?

He has admitted it was a fraud. The fact that you believe it doesn't make it less so. Do you also believe in the scriptures written by James Strang?

Read up on James Strang. He was one of the major contenders for leadership after Joseph was killed. He claimed visions, and translated metal plates (the Plates of Laban mentioned in the BoM.) It seems to me he could backup his prophetic claims just as Joseph Smith did. Or at least he learned the trade from JS. It’s odd that he did garner a larger following. Ask any good Mormon why they think Joseph is a prophet but yet they reject Stang.

With such undeniable evidence, how can anyone deny the truth that James Strang was a prophet. Yea, verily, etc.

I'm not a troll, I've never heard of Strang but will look into him.

To Flying High, The SP did help me a lot, and at least it "feels" like Moroni is trying to clean up the mess the BOM caused. And isn't that why you read "scripture" to have good feelings.

Buy the way, Christopher has called me a "Priest of Baal" in response to a blog post of mine.
