Even if Jesus rescinded the law of tithing tomorrow, the churh corporation would be and remain more than solvent. Money begats money. Damn right it would be a stable investment.

Like blood diamonds.

I would like to see the church do a full disclosure on it's assets

Untangling the non-profit from profit, seeing where the money comes from and goes. Accountability? for the church? OMGs

Seeing what businesses they actually own outside the church

wow, sounds like a cluster F to me

I don't really see any stable future growth in the church, but it's separate businesses maybe

but it is all just trippin cause it can't ever happen as long as they are non-profit status

Of course it is a good investment. Historically, the church has survived countless issues. We love to pretend like the internet is making a huge dent in church membership, but we forget that countless times in the Mormon churches past it has been faced with large numbers of members who were leaving. It has survived the drastic changing of its doctrine multiple times. It has spread to many parts of the world and even in those places that it hasn't spread, it has become synonymous with America.

Mormonism will be here long after we are gone. The day that the religion allows gays to marry, the stock price will jump like 30%.

Of course, I wouldn't invest in it because it is a highly unethical organization.

On the surface, the business arms of the church look like they can generate a lot of money. However, the reality is that it is managed by a bunch of idiots who thought it was a good idea to spend five billion on a mall in downtown Salt Lake City, which to the rest of the country is just a backwater hick town.

"downtown Salt Lake City, which to the rest of the country is just a backwater hick town."

This may be true, but only for the ignorant or uneducated.

No, I wouldn't. Mainly because the main product line of the Corporation of the President is flawed.

It's a pyramid scheme. It took a while but AMWAY had to change it's name a few times, due to increased commuications. The CUTCO KNIFE company can only go so far.
LDS INC will be stagnant to declinining steadily for the ext 100 years.

It has strong revenues, but on the downside there are some truth risks associated with the stock.

Why invest in an organization that started out as nothing more than a confidence scam and extortion?

Even though the Church has expanded into more legitimate lines of business they’re still running the con game and extortion racket as their primary bread and butter.

Might as well invest in an IPO of Organized Crime.
