My sisters ward was combined a couple weeks ago. Go figure, I remember when the wards were spreading out and increasing, but that was in the Rochester/Pontiac/Flint areas, and in the 80's. Not so many Utah mo's moving to Ann Arbor anymore, probably too worldly for em!

Must be that the annual smokeout is ironically clearing the air.

As a missionary I served in the Ann Arbor Ward as well as the Chelsea Branch. In the 10 months that I served in both I had one baptism- a child of record. I also served in the Ypsilanti Ward and had 2 baptisms there. I remember Ken Cameron, the Ann Arbor Stake President, promising the members that there would be an Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and a University Stake before the year 2000. So much for his 1988 prophesy.

The church is dying, Mitt isn't helping it, he's killing it cause people are doing the research and finding out what mormonism really is.

Actually, it is Kim Cameron. (Also I thought Laws was stake pres in the late 80s, but that was before my time.) I worked in callings with Kim briefly (as well as a lot with Ulrich who became a MP). I saw Cameron a little over a year ago at an airport and we got to talking. When it came out that I was an exmo, he quickly excused himself and almost ran away. lol

Interesting. I wonder if this is happening in other places. I remember when they were adding wards. If more are combining that's a real tangible sign that thier "fastest growing church" line is BS.

Have lived in that area twice. I believe the SP's prophecy. It did not fail. The people failed. The members by not being rightous enough, and the missionaries, since they were playing with their little factories.
