1. Steve Benson, SL Cabbie, and et in Utah ego were all in the same building on November 22, 1963.

2. Wine Country Girl went to school with Mark Hofmann.

3. Stray Mutt, SL Cabbie, and Elizabeth Smart's kidnapper all attended the same high school at the same time.

4. Mark Hofmann's sister sat behind SL Cabbie in study hall.

5. Poster Norma Rae knew Robert Kirby in high school and her ex is a good friend of his. SL Cabbie knew Kirby in high school 600 miles away and is a good friend of Kirb's as well. Cabbie's best friend in eighth grade (now deceased) was Kirby's best friend in high school here. Kirby sat behind the Cabbie in junior civics, and both were doubtless far more focused on the teacher's mini-skirts than getting to know each other.

6. Stray Mutt, Robert Kirby, and SL Cabbie all lived in the same ward boundaries at one time.

7. Jesus Smith's mother and SL Cabbie's father dated at one time in high school.

8. The Wise Ol' Cabbie was a fictional creation who became real and took on flesh-and-blood status when he embarked on a second career after being a lawyer and history major. Steve Benson's father was his seminary teacher when he was in high school.

9. Poster "wings" was et in Utah ego's babysitter at one time....

10. Wine Country Girl's bishop was the father of the gal who dumped the Cabbie for a return missionary who'd had a revelation they were to be married. Cabbie got drunk for eight years as a result, and after he sobered up has devoted part of his life to the "Exmormon Mission" in retaliation.

11. Will Bagley briefly lived in the same neighborhood as all of the above when he was young.

12. None of the people above knew each other except as noted, and it took the "miracle of RFM' for all of these disclosures to come to light.

13, Poster Mav and SL Cabbie both worked in the same grocery store at different times.

When I was at BYU, very often I would run into one of my classmates at the airport or downtown Salt Lake City or somewhere. Since I left Utah in 1995, I have never happened into a single person that I knew in college except online. My father says the same thing about his time at Utah State except for one guy he saw on a documentary once.

Jesus Smith and Cabbie, you guys could have been brothers LOL. I see a slight resemblance.

I was one of those AARP tax volunteers at the Holladay library last month, and did Cabbie's parents' neighbor's tax return.

My 8th grade English teacher would be impressed all to hell that I got all those possessives right (assuming I did :-/ )

I had no idea who he was and didn't care.
I had other things on my mind as a teenager way back then.

I have never met anyone on this board.

Indeed, apart from here at RfM, I've only ever met one mormon, a missionary in Périgueux during my holidays in the early 90s.

I don't even remember exactly how he approached me, but it was very hot and I was carrying 2 young children at the time, so I asked him to leave me alone so that I could continue to enjoy my holiday.

I would like to meet most of the people listed in this thread, though. Maybe one day I'll make it to the States...

Shrekssister and I lived on the same street in my hometown, an uncommon place for Mormons. She borrowed my sister's Suzuki Samurai for a job interview in the mid-90's.

That's pretty amazing, Cabbie. Small world indeed. :)

Here's the scientific conclusion:

Cabbie is very social and meets a lot of people in a close knit community.

Here's the metaphysical conclusion:

Cabbie is the Holy Ghost.

and I were friends at Provo High and graduated in the same class.

She was one of the people on this board who gave my husband a lot of emotional support when he was a closet apostate.

After I left the church, we decided to all met up at the Unitarian church in SLC . . . and discovered that we already knew each other.

I took a seat in a non-denominational church next to a man and I chatted with him for a while. After about 20 minutes I mentioned RfM and my moniker, and he said, "Hi I'm cabbie."

I sat next to cabbie and talked to him not knowing it was him. That was kind of spiffy

...I live near the admins of this board, and hope to meet them someday, to thank them.

...I think differently than almost everyone I have ever met or interacted with.

...disagreeing and being civil at the same time is a learned skill, and most people do not take the time to learn it.

I think this whole thread is proof positive that Mormonism is a very, very small religion - otherwise how would everyone know each other?
