I am less than a year exmo and starting to learn a little about the bible which I never spent any time on as a mo and realizing there are plenty of unbelievable stories I never knew to join the ranks of Jonah and the whale and Noah's ark. I spend a good amount of time watching youtube videos on religious subjects as I figure things out now including documentary type/serious ones and funny ones, this is a funny one but makes some good points about Job basically suffering over a bet between god and satan.

I went to read the biblical text of the story after watching the video to see how much was thrown in for laughs but it seemed pretty accurate. The biblical text did make it seem as though even though satan was the one screwing with Job's life by killing his family etc. and god wasn't killing them himself, god did tell him ok, do your thing but don't kill him. specifically saying " 2:6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life."

Plus satan didn't mess with Job until after god had already kind of thrown it out there bragging and saying look at this super righteous guy on my side. I see this story as fictional but I know some believe it as true either as a bible fable meant to show a lesson or as a literal true bible story. I feel like no matter how you look at it god really threw Job under the bus.

Yep. I seem to really have ignored that in my mo days. I guess I wasn't very attentive in seminary (plus skipped a lot) or Sunday school and I never read the bible on my own ever, just the bom.
