I am relaxing on a Saturday afernoon have a skinny cape cod, thinking about a number of things in life. After reading some of the posts today, I am especially sensitive to the following items (nothing too new but some of these have hit nerves). I still feel not very smart but I have at least learned the following things:
You have to be yourself. You cannot let an organization make you into something you are not. Be true to yourself!!
Do not let ass holes in the church make you feel inferior. You are not inferior!
Use your own wisdom and intelligence to figure things out. It is not easy to find the way sometime but go with your heart and mind. Do not let others make your decisions for you.
Realize that the longer you have been influenced by the cult, the more deprogramming you will need. It is not smooth process but rather a bumpy and challenging that often takes time and stages. But, it is different for each person. When one person say this is the way it is in leaving the cult, it is often times different for you.
Be happy that you have found the truth out about the cult. So many never will.
Do not beat yourself up over and over again. This is easier said than done for many of us but it can be done.
Always use your own wisdom and understanding to make decisions. You can listen to others but there is so much bad information and bad advice that you have to be careful--especially coming from mormons
