One wonders if Wrestling, manipulative Joseph Smith did practice some form of BDSM on his wives. Definitely the Dom/Sub thing. How else could he have gotten the first wives to agree to so many more?
Don't you dare dirty the good name of BDSM by comparing it to religion.
While I have never been in a BDSM relationship myself, I don't see anything wrong with it, so long as it is consenting, and doesn't carry over to every part of ones life. Having a plethora of handcuffs and other restraining devices laying around my closet shelves, I would be open to exploring the possibilities of using them for something other then detaining an arrestee, now that I no longer do that kind of stuff. Of course I would have to find a willing partner first. Maybe when I start my sex cult.
As many have said here, BDSM is consensual. Religions are, largely, abusive; Mormonism especially.
BDSM is especially prevalent in Britain, as we are a nation noted for it's kinks. You can lead someone round the town on a dog leash or chain attached to a dog collar and the good 'ol British public won't turn a hair.
And speaking of nuns, we all know why the laundry van calls at the convent lol.
