I cannot believe myself anymore. I visited City Creek with my family over the weekend. It was actually my idea to visit there.

I must have been overwhelmed by the whole scene. I tried to sit down for dinner in the Cheese Cake Factory with my family. Something clicked in my head and I just had to get out. I got up, left my family at the table, left the restaurant, headed until I found a 7-Eleven for some smokes. The 7-eleven man was an asshole too just cuz I asked for matches. "no matches, no matches, I need to put up a sign says 7-eleven doesn't have matches." F### you too, man.

Just the whole thing. I miss it there in Utah, but I'm just a little frustrated with the whole experience. Confused for now.

matches No Longer a 'gimmee'?

what about all the pre-pubs that don't wanna spend the extra .99 for one of those cute Playboy lighters, or who forget it in their pocket; Mom finds it when she empties pockets for the laundry (que Twilight Zone theme)?

I'm confused for now, too.
No idea what Stiff was trying to convey.
Try again when sober?

visited last weekend. She took her son and a friend to SLC for the weekend. She loves Gateway and thought she'd go on over to City Creek to see what it was all about. She said most people were dressed up in dresses and suits or white shirts and ties. She hasn't been active in years--and she said it was SO mormon. She hated it. She is worried Gateway will close.

She did talk about the "wealth" that was displayed and how obscene it all seemed to her.

Who gets up without an explanation and just leaves their family sitting in a restaurant ??
That was very rude and inconsiderate.

Are you on medications?

Funny how you are the one who is always rude, are YOU on medication?

Sounds like he was having a panic attack or something, clausterphobia.

I understood the post, not that difficult.

I think Glo makes a good point

You don't think it's rude to just leave your family sitting in a restaurant without saying anything??

What is the family supposed to do?
- Sit there and wait for his return?
- Leave when they are finished eating and assume he will find his own way home?
- Not be concerned that he has left and not returned? Maybe he got robbed, mugged, or maybe accosted by a missie

Just saying

@ non for this

Yikes, there must be quite a few words you have never used.

But, since you say you are on medication, there are obviously reasons for that.

So I'll overlook the paranoid hostility and wish you a good day.

Been there and done that.
Panic attacks in public environments are not fun and happen just as the OP describes.

A lot of people were dressed up when I was there too, but it was Young Women's Conference that day. Was it Conference when you went?

It must be said again. D'nile is not just a river in Egypt. People don't get where I'm coming from or what I experienced, then go back to the land of D'nile.

You went to the new mall, something unspecified overwhelmed you sufficiently for some unknown reason that caused a panic attack that left your family behind at a restaurant while you went to a 7-11 for cigarettes that had no matches.
You were angry at the counter clerk because 7-11 has no matches.
You were "confused".

You "miss it there in Utah", where you were.
Where are you now?

Nope, I have no clue where you're coming from, what you experienced, or what your unintellible post has to do with denial.

And, no idea why you felt compelled to share and spread confusion here.

Gee, no one is forcing you to read and post about this, now are they? The post made total sense. Denial is what some of you are saying. I realize that not everyone on this board is "psychologically" minded, but it's pretty clear what his meaning is.

We can all post whatever we need to, and he needed to post that, so don't keep reading. Oh, wait, you are reading this right now, aren't you. See.

Juvenile.

If he'd wanted to relate a story, include enough details to MAKE it a story.
It was an incomprehensible rant as posted.
