"To be sure, there is real prejudice against Mormons." - Um, is there prejudice against Scientologists and Jehovah's Witnesses? Not as noticeable but there would be, if one of their wealthy members made a run for POTUS.

Elderly TBM neighbor lady: "Oh isn't it SPECIAL! It looks like Mitt Romney will be the Republican candidate!"

Me: "Sorry, I wouldn't vote for a Scientologist."

Her: "Oh, he's not a Scientologist. He's a MORMON!"

Me: "Same reasons apply."

She hasn't spoken to me since.

And what makes it absolutely hilarious is that they don't understand why.

I think the free discussion of Mormonism is at an end in this campaign.

It was barely possible to get members of the same party to discuss religion, it will be verboten for one party to criticize the others religion issues.

It's not fair, but that I predict these writers are completely right. Our exmo party is about over.

Mormonism: How could something so hilarious possibly be true?

I am not as afraid of the Mittens nomination as I am a Mittens presidency. I think that would be an atmosphere in which criticism of his Mormonism would be less tolerated.

On the other hand Mormonism is darn weird and every poll calls it a liability for Mittens. For that reason they just may give more leeway to joker makers and critics.
