Then it stopped raining, then it started again.

It was a national holiday in the UK. So naturally, it was torrential rain all day!

We decided that if we were going to get wet then we might as well enjoy it.

Fantastic day. My grandson left his arm bands off and learned to swim properly - we ended up racing widths of the pool.

Everything is looking lush and green Matt so it might be worth it.

Briggy

We nipped round the corner and had a fantastic bubble and squeak with slices of roast beef, all made from yesterday's Sunday dinner at the house of a very good friend.

Got suckered into watching Coronation Street and Eastenders, though... ;o))

Bubble and Squeak is basically the vegetables left over from a Sunday roast. Cabbage, carrots, etc., stirred together in a pot.

It bubbles and yes, it squeaks, too! ;oD

Was on the plane back from NY yesterday, the pilot announced "the current weather in Manchester is 8 degrees with rain" and the whole plane laughed. I think everytime I've touched down in Manchester it's been raining. I guess it wouldn't be home without it.

Thing is Dave, just because something is a truism, doesn't mean it isn't true.

They must do it differently in your part of the world, Matt. My experience was that it was fried in a pan rather than stirred in a pot.....but of course, since I didn't like the stuff (it's right up there with Marmite and jellied eels) I was asked to leave the country.
