Remember upon Howard Hughes, death a fake will was found at an LDS Church which stated Hughes had been baptized a mormon before death, and also left his a large portion of his estate to the Prophet. (see the book "CITIZEN HUGHES", and the blog link below).

"Back in 1976, it looked like the LDS Church was going to enjoy a $156 million windfall. The reason? It was the death of billionaire industrialist Howard Hughes, who apparently executed a will leaving one-sixteenth of his estate to the Mormon Church," and a Utah Mormon man, Melvin Dummar.

A Mormon Will was found. Back in 1976, it looked like the LDS Church was going to enjoy a $156 million windfall. The reason? It was the death of billionaire industrialist Howard Hughes, who apparently executed a will leaving one-sixteenth of his estate to the Mormon Church and another one-sixteenth to a man named Melvin Dummar.

And the will was a forgery. That hasn't stopped Hollywood, however. I see there's a cable offering, even...

Hughes' "inner circle" consisted of Mormons who were chosen for their loyalty and "enabling" behaviors; by the time of his death, Howard Hughes was a deeply disturbed individual doubtless addicted to the medications he was presecribed.

Hughes' lifestyle at the end was cannon fodder for the tabloids. Google up the story of the Clifford Irving hoax as well.

I wonder whatever happened to good old Melvin.
He was a pretty poor liar.

Oh yeah ..

Why would Melvin want his share and give the LDS Church a cut?
A better title is: "Some Mormons Tried to Scam Howard Hughes's Family out of Inheritances.".
