Steve, son of perdition.

if you haven't been following it,

that's some amazing shiz going down.

I loved the last comment, "I can't imagine a Christian church referring to its members as licensee's."

yep, no argument here.

Great work, Steve.

I'll stop gushing, now.

It does seem unfair that Steve Benson has so much talent and energy, but I watched conference and heard the "savior's parable." I accept that Steve is awesome. Go Steve!

"I can't imagine a Christian church referring to its members as licensee's."

I've been thinking about this. I almost think it is worse to call the members sheep. That implies a helpless, mindless state and (most) Christians actually think it's great!

Is "licensee" in the same category as a Muppet? ;-)

It seems to me, if the church were planning on monitoring its members' internet users, it would be easier to slip in a piece of malware along with some innocuous piece of software the church would 'give' you. Then hide an acceptance of the malware somewhere at the bottom of EULA. For fun, they could include a keystroke logger that provides them with all the information about member's financial info and passwords, etc.

The church has a problem with realizing it is not omnipotent. They think this will be swallowed, wholesale, by the average morg, because of the way it is labeled. When it doesn't, they will all stand around and 'scratch their heads' and wonder why.

I think most of this is designed to make the users think they are special (What in the church isn't designed to make members feel 'special' or more 'righteous, then other members?) If enough members want to feel 'special,' then they will have members lining up to do it, so they can tell their BIL that they are more 'special' than he is.

However, if they want to give the avg. member access to ANY of their databased to "clean them up," let me at it...
