We don't know about Kolob.

We don't know what we are really working for ... are we going to be gods and goddesses some day or what?

We don't know what makes caffeine acceptable. Is it amount, temperature or does it have to be named specifically in order for it to do us bodily harm.

We don't know about Mountain Meadows, Strengthening the Members committee or what oaths our parents took in the temple.

Do those apostles not realize how DUMB they look when they tell a reporter that they "don't know" something about their own religion, and not just that, but a religion that they are supposed to be a head honcho in?

I can't imagine how much more stupid they look when the same ones that tell a reporter that they don't know.......actually have books written where they say they "know".

Dual Personality Disorder is a term that will be associated with the Apostles of the mormon church as a legacy for this generation of leaders.

We don't know why you cannot drink coffee or tea, but apple cider and hot chocolate is okay. We don't know what makes one "hot drink" off limits while others seem to be okay or why you can't drink bad "hot drinks" cold instead. And we don't know why you cannot drink beer.

We just know that you are a sinner if you do these things, but we will not judge you for sinning differently than us.

We just live to a different standard, that's all.

But we don't really know what that means.

As much as Joseph Smith was a whackjob, I do give him a certain degree of credit for not caring if his religion he created was mainstream. He basically said "F*ck you!" to the people who didn't follow his cult. As disgraceful as some of his actions and as unadmirable as he was, there was a certain degree of honor in that. The Mormon church from 1890 on have not followed his example. They are two faced. Wanting to be part of the mainstream, but still believing in certain things that appear crazy to outsiders. (and many in the church who decide to leave like us) That is why Apostles who write books and give conference talks on certain things will become different people when giving interviews or talking to the outside world.

That's because he (and from what I can tell, BY to a good extent) were charismatic leaders. It didn't need to *make sense*, they could rely on the force of their personality to get people to ignore the red flags and simply follow.
