Shortly after the Nashville Temple's original lot was rejected due to zoning conflicts, downtown Nashville was hit by a pair of twisters that did a lot of damage and caused a lot of suffering. Our stake president insisted that this was the wrath of God on the city of Nashville for rejecting the temple, and that it was unheard of for tornadoes to hit in the downtown areas of built up cities. He would teach this "doctrine" from the pulpit, and in the CES classrooms were he was the director for the local institute.

Following that logic, he was pissed at Salt Lake when he unleashed a tornado in the heart of the city. If I remember correctly, even the great and spacious building was damaged. I think it was under construction at the time.

But the Salt Lake temple wasn't damaged, which proves HF protects his temples against all harm. Unless the temple is in Samoa.

Just wait until one of the temples in the third world, goes up in a civil war.

I recently attended adult institute in my stake where the instructor told us that sometimes God needs, and I quote, "a little famine, a little war, a little 9/11 to remind us to turn our attention back to him". You know, because when Mormons aren't reading their scriptures enough, God's only choice is to kill innocent men, women, and children to remind us to get back on track.
